  1. You can certainly timeline I didn't consider both Sano and Buxton were going to get hurt in 2014.
  2. At some point in time, pitching prospects, depth etc., becomes a numbers game. TR has done a great job of stockpiling power arms. I expect we will see several shiny new things this season and next. My best guess is Pressly and/or Meyer right out of ST.
  3. If someone considered him to be a 2-3 starter or a future closer, no doubt TR would trade him. Believe both May and Kepler are all but off the table, due to their versatility. I posted on another thread, Berrios and Polanco would be the first to go.
  4. If we trade a starting pitcher in a blockbuster type deal, it will be Berrios packaged with Polanco. Unlikely either will be a major contributor in 2016. Our organizational strength is power arms in the farm system. With three months left, I can't see spending much on a 2-3 year deal with a free agent, when we got Jepsen for next to nothing.
  5. 90-72 Our favorite team is going to average 90 wins for the next 6-8 years.
  6. Actually, I talked about the parade beginning in 2015, in 2013. Thanks for reminding me.
  7. When you have a winning formula, you don't change it. The only real question is whether we catch the Royals next season, or in 2017.
  8. I would guess it has something to do with his career 41-29 record.
  9. Actually, every offseason is unique, not sure how you can compare them. TR rebuilt a mid-market team in less than 4 years, there is no burden of proof. He's fine tuning the juggernaut, and we are witnessing the Glory Days.
  10. Someone who gets it!
  11. Friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. This is an honest opinion of one who actually attends the games, spends a lot of time downtown during game days etc. As a Twins fan and resident for over 50 years, I'm very comfortable expressing my knowledgeable opinion.
  12. The paying fans here in the Twin Cities are very happy with the direction of the team. TR has rebuilt our favorite team for the second time, and this time in less than 4 years. Any dissatisfaction with the FO certainly is not locally based. Tickets are going to get to be tougher to find and unlike some teams, what TR built is very sustainable, as it was the first time. These are the glory days for local fans.
  13. Board favorite Berrios was an overdraft. Except for the Drew Butera trade, I'm trying to remember one that was favorably received by the board. Could you refresh my memory? Have we ever signed a free agent that was favorably received?
  14. I can't imagine our favorite team would spent 4M on a 16 year-old they didn't think was #1. Ben Balder at BA didn't have any problem with the pick. How much agreement is there on American made picks at 16 years-olds?
  15. The hallmark of a great organization is rebuilding in less than 4 years.
  16. All Houston did was start one, and some would even say two years earlier than we did. We will be looking at them from the rear view mirror in the not too distant future. TR and King Theo pretty much followed along the same lines by developing the farm system first. Theo started out with more tradeable assets, and being a large market team can not be overlooked. Paying fans in the land of the cattle and the wheat and the folks that can't be beat, don't view the large market Lovable Losers, being a NL team, as someone we are in competion with.
  17. As King Theo always says, there is no such thing as a young free agent. If we make a big move for a starting pitcher, believe we will offer 2 of Berrios, Kepler, or Polanco. In less than 4 years, TR has us playing meaningful September games. I'm guessing his next goals are the winning of a pennant and eliminating our dependence on free agent starting pitching.
  18. What would be your stance if they go undefeated and unscored upon? Do you believe membership would feel the need to move the goalposts again?
  19. 83-79
  20. Sounds like another myth to me.
  21. Our friends next door at Twinkie Town are running a GM approval poll, and TR has an approval rate of 77% at this time. Pretty clear indication that the millions of knowlegeable and loyal Twins fans, consider TR to continue to be the savior of our favorite team. I would encourage you to read the members comments. You can't help but notice the lack of innuendo, myth building, and conspiracy theories. The membership appears to be constrained by the truth, and attach a great deal of significance to personal credibility.
  22. Would you be happy with Berrios and Duffey in a single draft?
  23. Which ones would those be? This is the off season and down time, let's hear it.
  24. Dave, do you recall how long their rebuild was? Seems to me it was awhile between playoff appearances.
