  1. Brock, you're actually pretty close with the Royals. They were going to clean house in 2013, but stayed the course. Better times are just around the corner.
  2. The one thing our favorite team can do fairly quickly, is improve the defense. I would move Brooks Sano to full time DH, trade Parks, and Pinto Arcia. There was a lot of interest in Parks during free agency, and he has a team friendly contract. We should be able to get a modest return. Assuming good defense is still valued, you can't have players like Pinto and Arcia on the squad. Fix the defense by the trade deadline, then concentrate on the main event, which is revamping the stating rotation.
  3. No one will convince me it was.
  4. Two All-Stars would make this team a contender. Certainly it would forestall the need for any type of massive rebuild activity which is what I originally responded to.
  5. I've got nothing better to do, demonstrate it to me.
  6. Who was the last Twins starting catcher who wasn't an All-Star sometime in their career? Giving up on Murphy this early is silly.
  7. Actually, all it will take is for Sano and Buxton to play up to their potential.
  8. If TR decides to get back into it in 2016, he will need to trade the most valuable commodity in baseball, which is young starting pitching. Berrios or Duffey, Stewart or Jay, Gonsalves or Thorpe. You are not going to get future board favorites, for current board scapegoats.
  9. Anyway you could come up with the name of the individual who screwed up in 2010? The board is running out of scapegoats.
  10. Target Field would become a parking lot.
  11. Or 2 of the top 8 anyway.
  12. Our favorite team would like Sano to be one of the faces of the organization over time. Why would they have him embarrass himself over the next year or so by putting up 20-25 errors? This board is running out of dead horses to beat IMHO.
  13. Buxton will do better than Zach Jones, Pinto, Sano at 3B, May as a starter, or any of the decline phase NL relievers the board lusted for.
  14. Maybe even fall off the toilet.
  15. Put me down for lack of hitting.
  16. Actually. the pitching has been good. Who would you get rid of?
  17. You will see the ballboys or ballgirls play 3B before Sano.
  18. Our favorite team will be contenders this year, and the next 6 or so no sweat. It's too bad baseball isn't like Dancing With the Stars, where the fans get to vote.
  19. Sounds like a myth to me. It's not that challenging to put a negative spin on any move whatsoever.
  20. Having depth is the opposite of painting oneself into a corner. If a spot becomes available, most likely they will have multiple choices. Too many major league ready pitchers is a good thing. As TR always says, these things have a way of working themselves out.
  21. Of course winning games in 2016 is the top priority. They did not ignore the bullpen in the offseason, they just didn't do what you wanted them to. The bullpen will be much improved this season due to our depth and by 2017, I wouldn't doubt we have power arms to deal. I would be very surprised if our favorite team ever signs any additional decline phase pitchers in free agency.
  22. May was an option, he just wasn't the winner.
  23. Mike, one or two doesn't add up to most.
