  1. Package Sano and Gonsalves and you can get an established starting pitcher and not really hurt our opportunity to get into the hunt next season. I'm hearing our billionaire owners want to contend next season and it sounds like they may open the checkbook.
  2. Sano committed 14 errors in his first 43 games at 3B. Unless they hire someone to put a gun to Molly's head, you will see just enough of Sano at 3B to keep him engaged.
  3. Santiago is twice the starting pitcher Berrios will ever be. Berrios is a miniature LaTroy Hawkins with one inning stuff.
  4. No problem. Antony said on Inside Twins he played at 2B, because we had no depth behind Dozier in case of an injury. They already had Nunez, Escobar, and Santana at SS.
  5. Last time I did the math, Sano has played 3rd 25% of the time since he has been to The Show. Molly is running out of excuses why he's not out there. The fact of the matter is, our favorite team will never have a decent infield with Sano flopping around out there. It's Polanco's job to lose at SS, if so he moves to 3B.
  6. Kind of like Berrios crapping the bed.
  7. All you need to do is trade board favorites Sano And Gonsalves plus sweetners. Hopefully the new management group can think outside the box.
  8. I don't care about the Pohlad's money. I just don't want to see Sano flopping around out there at 3B, ( note, I'm no longer allowed to refer to him as Brooks, don't ask)
  9. Could you be specific? He has shown me absolutely nothing, and I'm trying to figure out if Mejia or Berrios with be the first man up, or if our favorite team will spoon feed Berrios as a long man.
  10. Our woes this season have absolutely nothing to do catching. Do you have any math or science to back that up?
  11. I agree, deal Sano with sweeteners and we can get back in the hunt. We played the Gonsalves game with Meyer in 2014 and with Berrios in 2015. Trade Gonsalves along with Sano. We don't near a tear down, nor do we need to push contention endlessly into the future. We were in the hunt all last season, and feature or will feature 4 future All-Stars in Kepler, Polanco, Buxton and Sano. We have money, vets to trade, and the most valuable commodity in all of baseball, which is young starting pitching. The right GM can get this done this off-season.
  12. All kinds of ways to speed the rebuild. I would deal board favorites instead of board scapegoats. Sano, Gonsalves, and a IFA starting pitcher for 2 established pitchers in a 3 team deal will get us back in the hunt. Also, I believe as King Theo does, that there is no such thing as a young free agent. That said, I'm guessing our scouts with the help of Jack Goin and his staff of 8, are looking at a fair number of free agent starters. They don't have to be sexy choices, to provide value.
  13. Nothing could be further from the truth.
  14. I would come up with a better example. Vargas has no trade value. I wouldn't get all that worked up over an exchange of the 25th man.
  15. The problem is he can improve a great deal and never be anywhere near good enough to play in The Show. I'm not pointing a finger at you, but the board speaks out of one side of it's mouth and says the defense must improve, while the other side of the mouth insists Sano play 3B. The first team to make Sano a fulltime DH wins.
  16. The defense will become much better once Sano becomes the fulltime DH and stops flopping around the field.
  17. Good advice. If you want to see something positive, do it yourself.
  18. No one is asking him to find positive things to post 2-4 times a week. Some of us would be happy to find something positive on this board once in a blue moon.
  19. Santiago has a pretty fair track record, and will be a starter somewhere in the majors come the start of 2017. No idea where Berrios will be. Interesting spin on Dean, he has positioned himself to garner the same number of votes for ROY as Berrios when the team votes this off-season.
  20. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any that have happened in the last 14 years. Do you have specific examples you can share with the board?
  21. I have 20 members on my ignore list and it doesn't help.
  22. New approaches are a dime a dozen. They need established starting pitching.
  23. No doubt our need this off-season is starting pitching, starting pitching, and starting pitching in that order. Fortunately, we have all kinds of money, vets to trade, and the most valuable commodity in all of baseball, which is young starting pitching. I would look for our new GM to package Gonsalves and one of out IFA starting pitchers for an established starting pitcher. I would guess our scouts are out looking as we speak.
