  1. Good stuff! I like the idea of taking 3 starting pitchers with 2 being the college variety.
  2. One of the laws of baseball, is you can only beat the teams you play.
  3. Since it appears at this time we will be in the hunt, I would package several of our AA arms to get a proven starting pitcher prior to the trade deadline.
  4. Very convincing!
  5. I would like him to leadoff. I would surround Sano with Dozier and Vargas.
  6. 17-14. Last year at this time we had members posting we would lose 115+ games.
  7. I agree. I was hoping the arms would do better, because at some point in time this year, I believe they will become our emergency depth. Burdi should be on the move in the not too distant future.
  8. Excellent example of hindsight. I would trade pie-in-the-sky for proven vets all day long. Hu was somewhere around our 15-20th prospect when we moved him. Guys like him are a dime a dozen.
  9. Don't confuse hypothesis with fact. Nick is just guessing. I agree a better role would be 7th or 8th inning, but he's the best we have at this time. Foolish to breakup a winning team. Hopefully we can wait until the shiny new things are ready.
  10. Jepsen was a proven vet and pitched well down the stretch in 2015. Hu is still pie-in-the-sky.
  11. Having 3 of the top 37 picks in the draft will restock the farm system.
  12. We were talking about the farm system. The 2012 draft was one of the strongest I recall, and every one since has given every indication it will be successful also. I'm sure I don't have to remind you a successful draft is defined as one which provides 2 contributors. I challenge you to provide anything thing at all in print that doesn't show our favorite team is among the best in IFA. Ben Balder at BA has always been very complimentary. Also, I'm sure you know most IFA signing are 16 years old. You wouldn't expect to see those signed in the past 5 years in the majors.
  13. You do know we have the second youngest team in all of baseball right?
  14. They are playing .500 ball, and the pitching and defense are much improved. I didn't expect them to win the World Series in the first 6 months.
  15. The old sheriff said on many occasions, every time he approached ownership about additional funds it was approved. No reason to believe the new sheriff is operating under different constrains. The point is a bad contract was eliminated, and we have plenty of money to spend.
  16. You are overgeneralizing. Neither you, nor I know what every baseball team does, or can do. Once again, there is a new sheriff in town.
  17. I believe every business in America has an annual budget, so what's your point?
  18. There is a new sheriff in town.
  19. I hate to see it, but expect Buxton to be sent down shortly. We're close to .500, pitching and defense has been better than expected. Need the bats to get going.
  20. Who says we have to spend it during the offseason? It was money earmarked to be spent in 2017 and we have plenty of 2017 left.
  21. Miss Nolasco do you? I was thinking about the money it freed up. Who said anything about 3 good starts? He's had a nice career and I figure will get 3 years and 25-30M in free agency.
  22. On Inside Twins, they said the move to the pen is not permanent. He is still working on a change up. On another note, at this point in time Gonsalves only has 2 dependable pitches.
