  1. Cruz didn't come through, but I'll still take him in a big spot. Sano on the other hand, I have zero faith can even make contact in a key spot. And get Blake Parker to the IL and off this team already. He can re-hab during the All-Star break and give it another try before 7/31.
  2. I remember the wailing and knashing of teeth on BYTO over trading those valuable prospects. (OK, I don't, but you know it happened.)
  3. I love how these types are always "not republicans" and don't support them. Yeah...OK.
  4. It's only the first debate. I expect the field to finally start to go down afterwards. Maybe by the 2nd debate in August they can all fit on one stage.
  5. May can't be the closer until he stops walking so many people.
  6. Reminds me of OJ's book "If I did it".
  7. Very few of the national polls are online polls. At most they are a component of some. If anything, old folks who still have landlines get over-represented. Doesn't mean the polls are right, just saying.
  8. Parker needs a stint on the DL. Something is very wrong.
  9. Good game. Parker is sooo cooked though. They can't keep using in the 8th/9th. I'd sooner re-sign Fernando Rodney or Belisle.
  10. Presumably the Braves checked that before they agreed to give him $13 million.
  11. I'd start Kuechel ahead of Perez and probably Gibson in a play-off rotation. Maybe even Odorizzi if he turns back into a pumpkin.
  12. I understand not wanting to commit $32 million in 2020 and 2021 to a relief pitcher. Essentially you are trading the prospects you will give up in a trade for $32 million to spend elsewhere on your payroll the next 2 years. Depending on who the prospects are, that's not a bad trade. Not going all in on Kuchel is harder to defend. Presumably the Pohlads are willing to go all in within reason. So it's not like paying Kuchel $13 million means we won't trade for a reliever due to $$.
  13. He's certainly an upgrade over Pineda and probably over Perez by the end of the season.
  14. The Dems fear around impeachment is so over-stated. Trump's base will be motivated no matter what they do. The independents may not agree with it, but they're not going to vote for Trump out of sympathy for being impeached or to "punish" House Dems. The bigger risk is causing their own base to stay home if they do nothing. The hearings are needed because 70% of the public has no idea what the Mueller report actually said. People won't read the book, they need to see the movie.
  15. There's a lot not to love about Biden, age being #1 in my book. But I believe he will crush Trump in PA and MI. Probably re-take WI too. At the end of the day, that's what matters. He's not the only Dem that can do that, but he's the most likely, IMO. Heck, there polls showing him leading Trump in NC and Texas. No, I don't think he will win Texas, but Trump is vulnerable to the voters who voted for him holding their nose because they hated Hillary more and thought "$%^ it whats the worst that could happen?"
  16. No. But I would say his performance was more impressive than Beto O'Rourke getting within 3 of Ted Cruz.
  17. I still wouldn't bet on it, but he has as good a chance as the Dems are going to get.
  18. Kuechel to the Braves for a prorated $21 million. I would gladly have done that deal or a bit more. I'm more disappointed in this than missing Kimbrel.
  19. It seems obvious Sutton will run for the Senate seat in 2020, doesn't it?
  20. It was 2004, not 1904.
  21. I think I'd rather give up a couple prospects for a reliever and have $30 million to spend elsewhere in 2020 and 2021.
  22. Perhaps that was part of it. But there was also $%%ing about trading a future #3 starter for a reliever who sucked. (Which was true in 2016, but not 2015).
  23. Enraged is slightly tongue in cheek, but there was certainly much b#%%ing and moaning about it on here.
  24. That start against Oakland was spectacular, I don't care what you say.
  25. Chei-Wei Hu, who many were enraged we gave up to bolster the bullpen in 2015 currently has a 6.50 ERA in AAA for Tampa.
