    I wouldn't assume that none of the current candidates run for Senate. Beto/Castro should run in Texas. Bullock in MT and Hickenlooper in CO.

    It's just as well. 9 days til the All-star break. Let him come back healthy afterwards.

    Chicks dig the long ball? All it takes is them believing they can fix him. The upside is still there, if fading. And we're talking about getting a rental for him.

    He's trending the wrong way and IIRC we only have control of him for 2 more season. 1B/DH who hit .220 with 30 HRs and strike out 45% of the time aren't that valuable. If we can move him for decent value, I'd do it.

    Sano and Nick Gordon (or Arreaz) for MadBaum and Will Smith. I realize they probably won't do it without pitching in return, but that would be my preferred package.

    I was thinking the same thing tonight before the HR. Maybe that will snap him out of it, but I doubt it. You have to figure he goes down when Gonzalez comes back if he doesn't turn it around soon.

    Posting his career #'s is a nice distraction. No one disputes he had a successful 2015 or 2017. The issue is that he is trending severely in the wrong direction and isn't getting any younger. His days playing 3B are numbered. And 1B/DH that hit 25 HR's and strike out all the time aren't valuable. You can claim them off waivers from the Rays whenever.

    Yes. He's not been terrible with the glove. Many years Nick Punto struggled to break .200 and wasn't even capable of hitting a fly ball deep enough to get a sacrifice fly. So Gardy gave him 500 ABs.

    He's not at his lowest value. That was last year. He's at least proven he's healthy, weighs less than 2 tons, can still play a passable 3B and put a charge in one once in a while. I'd trade him for any reasonable value.

    I get that you probably can't ask Garver to play tonight, but having 5 lefties in the line-up against a LH pitcher while Garver, Polanco and Schoop sit is tough.

    I get not loving him. But as someone who watched hundreds if not thousands of at-bats by Nick Punto and Denny Hocking, I don't get the hate. As uitlity players go, you could do much worse.

    I literally tell him he's not allowed to swing until he's taken a called strike or he has a 2-0 count.

    Are you sure? Given a choice between him and Parker...I'd....ah never mind.

    I had the game on DVR with 6 hours record time. Ended with 4 minutes to spare. Kudos to all who watched it live. I fast-forwarded through the Boston half of every inning after the 6th and I'm still exhausted.

    If you can include Sano in any trade for pitching do it. He's Adam Dunn II.

    With the minimum stint down to 10 days, if you can't play by day 3, you go on the IL IMO.

    Sorry. Misunderstood. Thought you were saying Sutton should wait and run for Gov again. Meh. She's not a better option than Sutton. Stayed out of it too long. Plus, even though she's back, they would hit her with the "out of touch DC'er" "not a real South Dakotan" stuff they slammed Dashle with.

    Oh Noem will run for re-election. Book it. But he can do both. Frankly, the only way for a Dem in SD to build name recognition is to keep running for things. Being the minority leader of the Senate when it's 90/10 R doesn't mean much.

    I know this is sarcastic, but I think he was important to the clubhouse/vibe of this team and should be brought back ASAP. I know Cave earned this shot with Buxton out, but you know Gonzalez is going to get most of the OF time anyway.

    Figured this was coming. A lot is different from this new regime, but waiting 4-5 days to put an injured player on the DL remains the same.
