  1. Veteran presence from Nunez there. Way to avoid the error on your stat sheet.
  2. And Perk's gonna blow it. I'm officially concerned about him.
  3. 'See! The bullpen is FINE!' - Terry Ryan
  4. This season has been Brett Favre 2009 and 2010 rolled into one....
  5. I think they come up with an injury and DL him until September. In all honestly, I think he needs it anyway.
  6. It's sad watching Hunter limp to the finish....
  7. This game will end in 9 innings. I hope we get 3-7 runs here.
  8. Who thinks we're winning this?
  9. Punto and Gardy. Together. *Shutters* You say this into a mirror three times and Gardy appears with Punto and Rick Anderson.
  10. Because he's more valuable than Hunter right now....
  11. I would agree, but we're 14 days from September. It's a shame to lose Robinson now, when we might need him later. I'd rather Torii go on the DL and take a break.
  12. I think I'd rather see O'Rourke here, Mollie.
  13. Who thinks this will end with the winner scoring less than 10?
  14. OPS will soon be adding a factor for Veteran Presence. With that added in, it's at least .650.
  15. Trade Plouffe as part of getting a catcher. A DH platoon of Arcia and Pinto make sense. I still think there would be room for Vargas too if he earns it.
  16. Who's looking forward to the contract extension for Hunter that will be announced Monday?
  17. +1,000 on Hunter. Though I think there's a 75% chance they'll bring him back. On Mauer, he needs to be told in no uncertain terms that he needs to work on playing LF and RF. Put Sano at 3B, Mauer and Plouffe can platoon at 1B, while also getting time in the corner OF/DH/3B (in Plouffe's case)
  18. When the # of games + the # of teams you have to jump > than the # of weeks left in the season. Currently this will be 5 (3+2) and there are 8. So not yet. We could be only a couple weeks away though.
  19. Torii Hunter's a great Twins and all that. But I don't need to see 40 year-old Torii hitting 3rd with a .240's batting average while Oswaldo Arcia, Kennys Vargas, Josmil Pinto and Max Kepler sit in the minors.I also don't need to see Mike Pelfrey make starts while Trevor May and Jose Berrios sit in the minors. Do something about that. it's not too much to ask.
  20. How bad has this stretch been? I'm looking forward to the Republican Debate starting so I don't have to watch this anymore.
  21. TR gets way too big a pass, and Bill Smith gets way too much blame. There's not a big difference between them at all, IMO. Terry Ryan has a better eye for young talent. Bill was more trusting of his assistants and at least wasn't too scared of his own shadow to make moves, even if they didn't work out.
  22. If he pitches well and we're still in the race, we're not going to trade him. That would be dumb. If he pitches poorly, we'll likely be out of the race, and no one will offer squat for him.
  23. Pelfrey probably bought himself 3 more starts today. If those starts go well, he'll stay. If they don't, it likely won't matter any more.
  24. I fear this too. Other team calls, if offer is unreasonable Ryan hangs up the phone and says 'I tried.' On occasion he may call, but again if the offer is unreasonable he hangs up the phone. We'll never know if this is true, but it wouldn't be shocking.
