  1. Yep. Heh.... my neighbors might be wondering what that ragged whoop was a few moments ago-- Go Twinkies!
  2. Hi gang-- just checking in. I loathe those red pajama tops.
  3. I couldn't agree more. Granted, this is only one game, but with such a marginal team we need all hands on deck to squeeze victories out of situations like this- and the manager once again has gacked up his chess pieces in willy-nilly fashion, and disregarded baseball 101 decision making. Again, only one game, but a script so typical of so many others. I am wracking my brain right now to come up with Molly moves that actually helped WIN a game we might not have otherwise, but I can quote you chapter and verse a myriad of situations where his mind-boggling decisions directly or indirectly resulted in a loss that most likely shouldn't have been. He is without a doubt the single worst in-game manager I can recall the Twins having-- and I suffered through the droughts of the 70s and early 80s along the way. I mean, we're talking Ray Miller-caliber here. Granted, he's screwed in a sense with the 13 pitcher debacle-- but my Gawd, if you have 13 of 'em, how about using more than the same one or two? He's got Pressley pitching multiple innings, which cost us one game, then got him NOT walking the hottest hitter in the entire major leagues, which cost us again. Yeh, historically, Avi Garcia is no Joe DiMaggio- but go ahead an pitch to him in the middle of July, when he's settled into his usual motif, not when he's in a total groove, and seeing and hitting the daylights out of any ball that comes his way. And the DanSan thing- don't even get me started.
  4. Hm. Twinks/ Wild. Both 2-1 losers. Wimpy, pathetic offensive display- check. Defensive brain farts leading to losing scores- check. Where's the trifecta here?
  5. Well, the good thing here is Joe can't hit into a DP by himself, so maybe Sano can catch up to one of those 97 mph offerings...
  6. 13 pitchers. 13. And he makes Pressley go more than 1. Thanks, Molly. Should have cleaned the dugout first this past winter.
  7. Just imagine my disappointment when I moved to mainland China in 09- and discovered that fortune cookies, general Tso's chicken, and egg rolls with the hot mustard do not exist here...
  8. Well, it is a great start, but we have to remember to take it --- Week to week Day to day Hour to hour The gate is straight Deep and wide (Til we can) Break on through to the other side---
  9. This is America. No 2nd acts. Ask Fitzgerald. Although that did seem like the leaked plot to the new season of Game of Thrones...
  10. I gotta echo a lot of these comments on the not-impressed side. I am scratching my head right now, the same way I did the last couple of years looking at Molly's quasi-lineups. I especially gotta echo Dave's sentiment about this team doing all they can to make the fans as disinterested as possible. Empty seats on opening day? Wouldn't surprise me atall. 5000 or less showing up on day 2? It's what they deserve. I gotta echo Mike, too--103 losses, and the same old cast of usual suspects... Come on, for Pete's sake. 'Gee, we sucked more than any team in mlb last year, let's try the same thing again!' And don't EVEN get me started on that Park debacle...

  12. I gotta admit, that one gave me a snot bubble...
  13. I hear what you're saying on those first 2 points- but I'm chuckling to myself thinking of anyone who wouldn't match up well with the White Sox this year... 5th place for them in '17, book it. (at least I dearly hope so!)
  14. Well, I'm all for Shaggy getting a shot. Love all that I hear about his lively fastball, etc; something the Twinks have been sorely missing. In fact I was licking my chops the last couple-three years about all those young flamethrowers we'd recently drafted, and not a single one of 'em, for reasons of injury or ineffectiveness, have been seen up top so far. Shaggy was probably #1 on my list of those guys. Now, I don't have time to follow things on a daily basis, so I don't know what he's working on for this ST, if it's a change, or another pitch for the repertoire, but all I see is him getting hit hard, and having long-ass innings. (to paraphrase Jim Mora), Closer? C-c-c-closer? You kiddin' me?

  17. Nyuk, nyuk, no worries- sometimes I think I'm funnier than I really am. Comes from being funny-looking, I suppose!
  18. Here's hoping Molly takes more input into the lineups this year. The past couple it seems he's pulled them out of a hat that looks like this...

  20. Heh... sorry, forgot to include the tongue-in-cheek icon with that post. Wait, there isn't one.... Dang.
  21. Oh, my gosh. You have to feel for that young man. I hope he will recover well, and keep his spirit up in the meantime. Yet, somehow, this is just so... so... Twins.
