    I don't think I'm going out on a limb here, but I believe that Yankee series would have turned out a little differently with Bux in the lineup all 3 games.

    Well, the boys really battled. And once again, a young-un showed some real heart and soul. But this loss is on the 2 Jakes. Jake 1 because he didn't get the memo that we needed a veteran All-Star with a big contract to step up tonight. And Jake 2 for whatever the *cuss* he was doing out there tonight, making T-ball level plays. Sheesh... Oh, yes, before I forget- Hey, Falvine, some pitching help, please? Like, a month or so ago?

    Well, went an had the morning workout, came back to 9-7 with Smeltzer throwing seeds. OK, well, 10-7. Come on, Vikes! All we need is a field goal! *I'm sure there are already a ton of posts in this regard, but have to echo the earlier one- Smeltzer's a starter- why was Jake left in so long?

    I saw that trade happen, and I think I posted just the same sentiment here. We traded Hicks for a guy who hit that one home run that one time? Heh... funny that Perk would 'take responsibility' for it!

    A commercial failure, lukewarm sequel to Chinatown. Desson Howe, writing for The Washington Post, said "At worst, it's wordy, confusing and – here's an ugly word – boring". Hm. Reminiscent of a certain inning I just watched.

    Sucks that we lost, but by gum, that was so untypical of a Twins loss to the Evil Empire. Times past, they'd have laid down long before the 9th, even. But the way they kept battling was inspiring. On another note, why, oh why, has there been no BP help coming via trade since the Break, or even before? It's not like this has been a secret all along, just coming to bite us in the @$$ now? My God, Falvine- we have a plethora of young OFers, and 1B-DH types, not all of whom are going to fit on the 40 when the time comes. The need is now- actually, the need is months ago, so don't let us give up possible chips for nothing in a couple of years, when we had a chance to do something now!

    One guy. Just one guy out of that pen (or starting staff today) does his job, and this doesn't happen. OK, Duffey was that guy, but he got screwed. And it was too late by the time he got in, anyway, then he got pulled too soon.
