    IMO you're looking at the wrong stats over the last 25 years Tom. I don't think runs per game is the problem. It's how the runs are driven in, primarily by hitting the ball over the fence. Which is happening at an exponential rate over the last 2-3 years. I think MLB is taking the wrong strategy to attract a young audience. It feels like they're just catering to the 15 second highlight crowd showcasing nothing but home runs, strike outs, and the occasional sweet catch. It's not helping getting more butts in seats at ballparks, and it's not really compelling to watch on TV either. I think this topic would really gain more steam if hitters spoke up about the balls too. Wouldn't this gain more traction if an all time hitter like Albert Pujols said "It was more difficult for me to hit baseballs out when I was 22. I shouldn't be hitting pop ups at 39 and have them land 5 rows over the fence."

    Sano has looked MUCH much much much better lately. It's amazing how cutting down on strikeouts allows him to put the ball in play more often. I don't expect him to maintain a 15% K-rate. Nor do I expect him to climb back into the 50% rate either. If he can continue this trend and lower his overall rate to 30%, that will be huge.

    Also, it's worthwhile to mention that both players are rule 5 eligible this off-season. I wish Graterol was healthy this year so they could trade him for MLB talent.

    I would have ranked Balazovic ahead of Graterol right now... Gonna be interesting to see how y'all rank them at the end of the season.

    It's caught up to him. Once Marwin is back, the corresponding move should be sending Sano to Rochester. Arraez IMO has earned another 40-50 PAs over Sano.

    .761 OPS now. Seems to go down by 100 points every week it's been pitched that strikeouts aren't a problem.

    Wade is on the 40 man. I doubt they create an unnecessary roster crunch trying to add Rooker to the 40 right now.

    Cron is arbitration eligible again for 2020. If he keeps up this production it should be a no brainer to tender him.

    Mad is certainly not the correct term... If they were mad about having success they shouldn't be running a baseball team. This is what "financial flexibility" looks like in real life. 5-6 players on the 25 man with expiring contracts and the freedom to move on as needed. I don't think the plan was to trade Schoop by the trade deadline. He is simply a one year stop gap while they wait for Gordon/Arraez/any other MI prospect to show they're ready for MLB action.

    They do... But that someone doesn't have to be in the organization right now. I would trust almost all of the trade candidates highlighted on this website over the last few weeks instead of Duffey, Magill, Morin, etc.

    He's got a ton of wiggle room to strike out and still maintain an OPS in the 800s! Though I never asked other fans when it's okay to comment about a player's faults... Is it once their OPS dips below 775?

    If I've learned anything this year, OPS is literally the only thing that matters... His OPS is 1.002! Nothing to see here... Honestly, I'm disappointed he's not striking out more.

    A trend I notice every single year... If a player starts their season hot, fans give them all the leash in the world when they slump. Simply because their overall numbers still look okay. If a player starts ice cold like Brian Dozier, fans bitch and moan and want them gone. They don't notice until the end of the year, oh, their overall numbers aren't so bad.

    So you're cool with Sano striking out 50% of the time as long as his OPS looks okay?

    Astudillo's chase rate is an issue. That's why he was sent down to Rochester. Sano striking out in 24 of 56 PAs in June is totally fine because his OPS is still good? I don't get it, I really don't.

    I sure hope he doesn't become Joey Gallo because I don't think his current performance is sustainable... Every player has peaks and valleys in their game. Because Sano's discipline is iffy at best, his valleys are pretty bad. When he's off, he barely makes contact with a pitch. I don't understand why some fans continue to dismiss this problem of his. Why is it a bad thing to comment about his bad plate discipline and high K rate, and want him to improve that aspect of his game?
