  1. I've read and seen enough of Lynn now. Never wanted him in the first place since he was a primarily fastball only pitcher. Batters wait to tee up on a misplaced fastball, and know his off speed pitches won't land for a strike.
  2. I endorse this just so Gonsalves can get his feet wet. Ideally once Erv returns he takes the last rotation spot, Lynn long man and Hughes cut. I can't imagine Gonsalves would do much worse than Lynn.
  3. Fantastic and very informative. Thanks for taking the time to write this Heezy!
  4. By "sell high" I meant the Twins could actually fetch a decent prospect if he keeps it up. Whereas the last 2 years I doubt they were able to generate any interest in Gibson.
  5. Most of the responses here have been positive, and it's deserved for him turning it around. However, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. He's had stretches nearly every season where he looks great, then reverts back to bad Gibby. If he continues at this hot pace, I will be very tempted to sell high. Since, as others mentioned, Erv, May, Lynn, and Gonsalves are in the mix this year at some point this summer.
  6. I know Jim isn't a great baseball mind, but the FO has to convince him that the replacement costs $500k if it's a prospect.
  7. At the very least he's at the middle of the end... But yeah, probably the end of the end for him.
  8. Couldn't agree more. Round Rock Express games (Rangers AAA) are a delight to attend. The longest game I've seen was maybe 3 hours which took extra innings to finish. It's not just the pitchers in MLB that are slowing down pace. Batters contribute to the problem too by constantly stepping out of the box adjusting their gloves, helmet, etc.
  9. Maybe this is the performance the higher ups need to see in order to trust young players. More of this. Less of 30+ year old nobodies.
  10. As someone who's blindly defended Sano over the last 3 years, I'm slowly moving to your side... We're all pretty sharp baseball minds here. I envision Sano being a force at cleanup ~.275, .900 OPS with 35+ HRs. Unfortunately it doesn't appear he's willing to change his batting approach. It's going to be a damn shame if he continues to be a ~.240 batter that strikes out 40% of the time.
  11. Silver linings articles on May 2nd. It's going to be a long summer, isn't it?
  12. Eric Aybar, where are you bro? You want to come back to the team so we don't have to see a 33 year old career minor leaguer? Love, Van
  13. If Buxton and Sano bust, this core isn't good enough to win anyway. It was imperative during the rebuild that Buxton and Sano became stars. Kepler and Rosario are good, not great players. Berrios could be great. Without a true star leading the way, the rebuild led by the past regime is a bust.
  14. Doesn't sound like that's happening for another month, if not more.
  15. So barring any setbacks, we're over a month away from him returning. I'll stick with the prediction May is back before Erv.
  16. Do we know where Santana is at in his rehab? For what I know it's been radio silent... I would bet that May returns before Santana at this point.
  17. You know exactly why... He's a 'healthy' pitcher making $13 million dollars.
  18. There are zero baseball reasons why Hughes remains on the MLB roster. Get rid of him please.
  19. I believe it was you that famously typed Garver holds a frying pan instead of a glove behind the plate! His player comp of Chris Gimenez is ringing true so far...
  20. Hey! A SP that can maybe pitch 5+ innings! Good luck to him.
  21. We're leaving SSS territory and entering trend territory. He's been dreadful to watch at the plate.
  22. That's about the only way to watch their games lately. My goodness.
  23. Logan Morrison wants to be in that conversation too. Not the refusing to cut bait line, but biggest whiff acquisition.
