  1. This has been crazy to see unfold... MLB baseball making a huge splash 2 days after the Super Bowl! Falvine made a judgment call and sold high on Graterol. Maybe they think he’s just a reliever. I’m excited that the rotation is getting stronger! It’s go time in 2020!!
  2. I like that we're thinking about the environment more and more in 2020... Thank you TD for recycling old posts!
  3. It was nice to see Graterol on this list... It’s not nice that the first 2 pitchers play for Cleveland.
  4. That’s okay, the term is harmless. Didn’t Rosario or some other player introduce it or something last year? Can’t recall. I think it’s silly personally but not enough to get worked up over.
  5. Over 272 with the juiced baseball. Under if they switch back to pre-2017 baseballs. Side note, can we leave the term Bomba in 2019?
  6. More food ideas: Over the (Rich) Hill Hotdog - We found old Dome dogs that we think are still edible! I'd wait until June first before trying them... Eggs Odorizzi - I mean, how is this not a food item right now? 2 over easy eggs on toast, topped with GarvSauce. Taylor's Tots - a small size of tator tots is all you need when Rogers is pitching.... Because the game will be over soon! Just a Littell Bit of Everything - a Platter option to choose 1-3 food items for the low, low price of $35! Home® Cooking - A station with a microwave so you can bring your home cooked meals to the ballpark! $10 for every 10 seconds in the microwave.
  7. We love idolizing athletes in this country, don’t we?
  8. The Twins have been signing ‘aging stars’ since before I was born, and probably after I’m dead. They can’t afford the price (FA or trade) to acquire them in their prime. So they get them on the back side of their career.
  9. Nothing outside of the Twitter world or reported on The Athletic... The buzzer was a theory to support why Altuve was so prepared to not have his teammates rip off his jersey after his game winning HR. Now I’m reading this conflicting tweet, and I am most likely wrong. https://twitter.com/joelsherman1/status/1217918038961467400?s=21
  10. To be clear, this wasn’t the only way they communicated the signs to the batter. Jomboy on Twitter has been following this story since it broke in November and is an excellent follow. They used trash cans against lesser teams because they could be heard in smaller crowds. They also used buzzers that were strapped to the player’s chest which was controlled by the hallway video guy.
  11. I hope so... There is still time left before deciding whether Dobnak and Thorpe are in the opening day rotation. I’m still hoping for more depth...
  12. I’m good with this signing! Donaldson improves the defense on the left side and has been a great baseball player for a long time. I’m happy we finally spent big money on a free agent.
  13. Cheers to watching a bunch of 11-10 ballgames this summer...
  14. Darvish is just one tiny example of the massive ripple effect cheating could cause. Darvish because of his poor WS performance lost a couple million, and his mojo for 1.5 years because of their cheating. Other players potentially lost out on additional arbitration money... Their bad performance against the Astros is added to the sample size, making them look worse. Other players potentially lost precious MLB service time and MLB salary because of bad performances against cheating teams... Cheating like this has massive effects.
  15. They’re running out of time to sign Berrios to a reasonable extension buying out 2-3 free agent years. There were a couple of comparable pitchers (Severino 4/40, Nola 4/45 with option to make it 5/53) the Twins could have used to start the discussion with Berrios. If he’s a Trevor Bauer type and wants to go year to year until free agency, we need to know that too and find out his value on the trade market.
  16. Yeah they wasted 4 years on Treadwell and haven’t made the right late round picks in recent years. Bisi Johnson looks like he could be a good WR 4, spot starter in a pinch. Pretty good for a 7th rounder. If the draft class is deep at WR I hope Rick picks the right sleeper this time. Back to the Gophers, I think Tyler Johnson has a sneaky good NFL career with good health. If he slips in the 4/5th round I’ll be rooting for the Vikes to take him.
  17. One of the better decisions I’ve made in life is listening to you, John, when you advertised TD on the Power Trip Morning Show... Been here for... *checks profile* 5 years now! Not too shabby, but still not as impressive as others who have been here since the dark days of 2012. They’re the fabric of the community, and why I come back almost daily!
  18. https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/antoine-winfield-jr/xPHI46MyyH I’d guess he’s a mid round pick. I love his instincts on the field. Not sure how he’ll test at the combine but I think he’s going to be a really good pro player.
  19. Good luck to him! I think this will be the start of several high draft picks for the Gophers.
  20. They’ve both been around the game long enough, and hopefully have the self-awareness to know they weren’t a team’s 1st, or, 5th option to sign.
  21. I hear Homer Bailey loves Taco Johns and breakfast pizza from Casey’s. Minnesota is quiet enough for Nelson Cruz to sleep in peace... Erv just loved smelling baseballs anywhere in the world. Nolasco came here to watch the world burn as he tossed beach balls down Broadway.
  22. Concur. I would gain more respect for the FO if they say we had a clear goal after the WS and failed. Fans will never get the full negotiation details. I frankly don’t care anymore who they were in or not in on. Just admit it was a failure and move on.
  23. 2019 was the most fun I had watching the Gophers. This class can look back in the future and know they were the ones who had the most successful season in 106 years. Who knows, maybe this is the start to a consistent contending team! 11 wins was well beyond any expectation I had for the team. Moving forward, the next item I want to see checked off the list is playing in the B1G Championship game.
  24. Very good win to end the best season in over a decade!
