  1. Since 2020, when he has shown he’s actually good?
  2. Kirilloff is a clear non-tender IMO. He's too fragile and this team can not afford more injury prone players on the 40 man.
  3. I think Kirilloff has played his last game in a Twins uniform. That was a strange situation. Paddock will be traded. Gotta free up money somehow. Jax gets moved to the rotation
  4. Major kudos to him. Happy Kirktober
  5. He's had plenty of opportunities to reverse the narrative now. He is perpetually stuck in 1 score football games. His defense is barely doing him any favors tonight.
  6. What did Kirk see on that INT throw? That was a textbook LB spy over the middle of the field and the WR was covered well by the DB anyway.
  7. Pro tip for Raheem Morris. You should probably put a guy or two on Mike Evans. 2 wide open TDs for him tonight
  8. Kirktober is alive and well
  9. First time this year I’ll have undivided attention to Kirk and the Falcons. I hold no ill will to Kirk except when he plays the Vikings.
  10. Willi faded big time in the 2nd half. He had a .774 OPS at the All-Star break. After that, .627 OPS in 249 PAs. He will be tendered a contract, but it might be advantageous to sell high on his versatility.
  11. True, but we need to start somewhere. Increasing their reach gives them more opportunities for new fans attending Target Field. And if the team is good, subscriber numbers will increase.
  12. Kris Lindahl and Nicollet Law are salivating at the thought of playing 20 ads per game!
  13. Except that’s exactly what the Padres did. Padres fans were still able to watch them if they had a cable or satellite package. The article I posted earlier didn’t include revenue from cable and satellite, and I’m sure they lowered the price because of lost exclusivity. But that’s the route the Twins and others have to take. It’s not going to make up the $50 million lump sum from Bally, but those days are over. Get a few million from Comcast, DirecTV, Dish, Hulu, YouTube TV, etc. Then get a couple million from FOX 9+, and recoup the rest from streaming.
  14. Let’s just say all 13 teams team up and create a network on Amazon Prime… Sure, you’re going to get existing baseball fans to subscribe. But you’re probably not getting new eyes on the sport. Apple TV has an MLS package available to purchase that I have no interest in pursuing. If I could watch their content on CBS first, and decide I like it, then maybe I would purchase the MLS package.
  15. Agreed. They’re not going to receive the lump sum from the RSN anymore for exclusive rights. I don’t know how realistic this is, but they should open it up and negotiate with existing cable/satellite providers, over the air channels, YouTube TV, Hulu, etc. The idea is to make it so simple to watch their content no matter who you use as a TV provider.
  16. Yeah, the solution has to be multi-pronged. Work a deal to get the games on an over the air channel, and nurture the relationship with cable/satellite companies. I haven’t been able to find any subscriber numbers for Arizona, but the Padres have 40,400 paid subscribers to their direct to consumer product. The Padres are making roughly $4.5 mill from streaming. That’s not gonna pay the bills. Edit: Correction it’s 45,400 paid subscribers
  17. Kudos to the Royals. They were free falling just as quickly as the Twins for a while.
  18. 3 AL Central teams and the Yankees remain. As expected
  19. How Tommy “Windmill” Watkins survived the purge we will never know.
  20. They better get on that plan because Diamond Sports doesn’t want to play ball anymore…
  21. You’re missing the point. Their stated goal was to eliminate blackouts and have the games widely available. This last season was the opposite of that.
  22. You’re being too kind to Derek Falvey IMO. He did a poor job allocating the budget. When the margins are razor thin, you can’t keep a $10 million RF when there were MLB ready options in the minors. When the margins are razor thin, you’ve got to hit on marginal FAs. Jay Jackson $3 million utter failure. DeSclafini $4 million didn’t throw a single pitch for us. Margot $4 million failure. Trevor “Wild Pitch” Richards at the trade deadline.
  23. Correa gets my vote for team MVP. Highest WAR on the team for both B-Ref and FanGraphs. We had no answer for replacing him when he was injured.
