  1. Things are never dire for a professional sports team. They'll be here long after all of us, continuing to make money hand over fist while crying poor.
  2. Love it, thanks Jamie! Hard to ask for a prospect to start from a better place, especially at 19.
  3. You know there will be some wacky excuse as to why another sub .700 OPS season in A-ball happened, or that its actually a good thing and he'll be better than any player on the Twins roster in 3 years.
  4. I'd put it at a Gross amount
  5. Zebby should be no lower than 5, pushing for #4. Gonzalez is certainly too high, not to say I'm out on him but he's outside their top 10 hitting prospects in my opinion.
  6. This is pure, unadulterated conjecture. You have so many of these weird narratives that you push and push and push, very rarely do they ever pan out and yet you still manage to push them with all the confidence in the world when it's obvious you cannot possibly know the truth of the matter. Posting weird conspiracy theories like this one and that Polanco wasn't performing well to start the year because he was "sad about being traded" isn't common sense. The irony of this statement is killing me though hahaha
  7. It was when Joe Ryan did it last year, and it is again with Kirilloff this year. I get it from their perspective, but at some point they have to realize how dumb it is.
  8. A 32 year old left handed reliever and a guy who will likely never see the majors would be selling incredibly low on Julien.
  9. Tanner Scott might be the only guy definitively better, and he's going to cost a pretty penny I think.
  10. Blaming Kirilloff's injuries on him playing the OF is one of the weirder narratives you continue to try and push.
  11. Some people just can't help themselves. The same FO who developed him from an 8th round pick just 2 drafts ago are now "risking major embarrassment" for not moving him up to AAA after a grand total of 9 starts in AA? Even in instances when they deserve nothing but credit some people only want to trash them.
  12. The metrics say that based on his batted balls from this season Kwan has the 11th largest difference in BA-xBA and the 3rd largest difference in SLG-xSLG (nearly 100 points) of any qualified batter in the league. To give him his due, he is hitting the ball harder and has improved in those expected metrics. However, he's still very far from being a power hitter deserving of a .500 slugging. Even accounting for his improvement, he's still massively overperforming his metrics. Cleveland, as a team, has the worst batted ball characteristics in the league. Can they keep outperforming their metrics for 70 more games? Maybe, but if it were the Twins I wouldn't bet on it.
  13. Couldn't find a similar tweet but I think you can scroll through here https://sites.google.com/view/pitcherdigs/digs?authuser=0
  14. I'd never heard of that before. Seems like xFIP but also includes hits. Here's Dasan at the top
  15. He's been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis in the other foot and has been replaced by Corey Seager for the All Star game
  16. One lost series in the last 7 isn't worth being upset about, particularly given their stretch before the break last year. Some time off will be great for the boys.
  17. Just appearances, he gets shifted around for pinch hitters/defensive replacements enough.
  18. With Willi you could maybe even say this team has 2 All-Star SS, a 2B, 3B, LF and CF!
  19. I wouldn't spend much to get Chapman. Not a fan personally, his velo is down 1.5 mph, he's getting lit up when he gives up contact and walking over 20% of the batters he faces. All his peripherals support an ERA in the 4s.
  20. I like Fangraphs' layout better for looking at minor league stats, Keaschall has been incredibly impressive at every level.
  21. Given the propensity for injuries in today's MLB, 4 good infielders isn't nearly enough to call the 5th guy a surplus. I think Miranda is a push with Julien (probably an unpopular opinion), but either way you can pretty easily find plenty of ABs for 5 or even 6 infielders if they're good enough hitters to get DH starts. I totally disagree that Larnach/Wallner/Kepler are all decidedly better than Julien. He's definitely shown more than Larnach, I would argue has shown more than Wallner, and Kepler for his price isn't more valuable than Julien. My thing with prospects is that until they prove it in the majors, they're not better than a guy who has produced. Plus, given Keaschall's OF flexibility (and the continuing need for a RH OF) they have a lot bigger logjam from which to trade from in the outfield than they do in the infield. Rodriguez, Keaschall, Martin, Keirsey and the only real IF knocking on the door in the next couple seasons is Severino who is limited to 1B/DH.
