  1. Jax has been better, I've been saying he should be the closer until Duran can get himself figured out
  2. This zone sucks... but it's helping Thielbar!
  3. just said on the broadcast Happ is hitting .218 as a lefty, .262 as a righty, not that shocking
  4. ugh I hate when Margot gets ABs against RHP
  5. Not just good, he's 12th in fWAR in the entire league since June 1st and that's while playing 10-20% fewer games than anyone else in the top 20 of MLB over that span. Hitting .302/.367/.610 with good defense and baserunning over that span. He's been worth basically his whole salary in that span.
  6. Dan Hayes has said his sources on this reporting are not from within the Twins organization. Seems odd to hate on the man for doing his job.
  7. He's been OK against lefties for his career but he's not a reverse split guy. His stats this year are pretty awful against lefties: 5.40 ERA, 5.56 FIP, 16.1% K%, 12.5% BB% For his career it's a 5.11 ERA, 5.00 FIP, 24.5% K%, 14.2% BB% Not particularly inspiring.
  8. Rodgers is pretty far removed from his only good season in 2021, and it seems like a lot of that season's effectivity was predicated on painting the edges of the zone. He's lost 2.5 mph and his control was bad last year with all the arm injuries and hasn't really come back this year. Right now he has mediocre stuff which doesn't get whiffs and gets barreled up often. Might be a good buy low candidate if the Marlins are just done with him, but I wouldn't give up much on a reclamation project that doesn't move the needle this year.
  9. Skubal looks like a top 5 pitcher in MLB. I don't see how you can get away without offering Jenkins.
  10. If Detroit agreed to that their fans would riot. Take that in a heartbeat!
  11. It's so obviously tongue in cheek. Dobnak is a silly guy, if the handlebar weren't enough of a clue in. You're taking this much more seriously than he is.
  12. I'm actually saying that 'core concept' is bunk. Everyone else behaving poorly isn't an excuse to join in. Even if they come in comparable to other "mid-markets" all that means is that many owners are willing to shoot themselves in the foot competitively to save a couple of pennies.
  13. Too much for a guy who wouldn't factor into the playoff rotation, IMO. Houston can use any pitcher they can get, though.
  14. The Bob Nutting or John Fisher defense doesn't mean the Pohlads aren't cheap. Comparison to a league of greedy billionaires isn't objective, either.
  15. Yeah, that's my response to the numbers you pulled out of nowhere and refuse to elaborate on but want to use as proof that they're employing DSP to lose them 10 figures every year.
  16. I've got a billion dollar bridge to sell anyone who truly believes the Twins have been losing $10M a year. That should help my fund to take over the team!
  17. The billionaires would LOVE for you to believe they are losing money. There's a reason none of them open their books until they are forced to. The Mets and the Padres are the only teams in recent memory that have been run without profitability as the top priority and that's because Steve Cohen couldn't spend all his money if he tried and Peter Seidler wanted to win one before he died. Those are extreme outlier cases in all the history we have of MLB team spending.
  18. Blake Snell would be great but no one should get their hopes up that ownership would be happy to swallow that pill. Worst case scenario he gets hurt at the end of the year and they're on the hook for $30M next year which would kill the self-imposed payroll. I'd be very happy given how back into form he looks lately, but it ain't gonna happen. Not with this ownership.
