  1. No snark intended, but they're just injured not disabled.
  2. It's really a shame Kirilloff has fallen off after his hot start to the year. I don't particularly care to play him in LF anyway, and Santana should never have been penciled into the starting role vs RHP - should never have been close to that role, really. Before the season I would have hoped that Yunior Severino would have been ready to be that left-handed 1B if need be, but outside of improving his walk & strikeout rates he's had a dreadful start to the year. Not sure there's anyone in the system right now that could fill that hole.
  3. Quite desperate to make this dig at me, eh? Doncon is outperforming Miller so far, particularly in that outside of a 3-game stretch where he hit 4 of his 5 HR Miller has a .190/.310/.274 slash line (.584 OPS) on the year. I'm just commenting on their performance this year. Gold glove defense in A ball will only take you so far. Even before the trade, just looking at prospect rankings had this in the Twins favor. A top 10-15 prospect from the Dodgers org for a ~20th or lower Twins prospect.
  4. I think platooning is generally a smart move. But at some point you have to look at who you're actually sending out there to take ABs and say screw it, even if this guy can't hit left handed pitching he's a massive upgrade against the more common pitcher and in the field. I don't think they will actually do it any time soon, but they really should.
  5. Sure, Glen spent from 2001-2006. Before Garnett's rookie extension the Wolves were 16th in payroll in '99 & 20th in 2000. After he shipped out Garnett, the Wolves averaged 19th in payroll for the next 16 years (including this season). Sounds a lot like what the Pohlads have done over the last 2 decades.
  6. Margot has been awful but at least the trade as a whole has been a plus so far. I've been calling for Keirsey for a while now, particularly if Buxton needs a longer IL stint he's just a no brainer to call up. Lose Margot, demote Kirilloff so he can work out some kinks in St Paul, I don't really care.
  7. Again, I'm not saying it was the reason that inning unraveled. Not sure why you're acting like I am. It would be a good catch at the wall but he clearly didn't have to jump and had about 4 seconds to position himself. That's it.
  8. Wasn't commenting at all on it causing anything, but that's not that hard of a play. He had a ton of time and plenty of room, definitely an error if he got his glove on it
  9. Man, it doesn't feel good to play late inning Tigers ball
  10. not an error on Austin Martin since it didn't hit his glove... what a useless stat
  11. My first job out of college included participation on my team's budget. I "budgeted" the utilities so I just reported the numbers, but our monthly meetings consisted of 6 presentations and then the site manager would ask the inventory manager if he could find X amount of money to "get out of inventory" to make the books look good. Every single month. Never believe a business is telling the truth with their accounting.
  12. Can't believe Rocco took Julien out of the game!!
  13. Could just as easily be 2 outs with men on 1-2 if not for the seeing-eye grounder from Garver or if Jeffers saw the popup
  14. Right now, either Margot gone or Kirilloff down. Big upgrade defensively and hard to be worse offensively.
  15. DaShawn Keirsey with 2 homers in St Paul tonight, up to .300/.381/.558 on the season and .356/.423/.533 in the last 2 weeks. He's got to get a shot soon.
  16. This is not an accurate characterization of the Glen Taylor A-rod/Lore situation. He balked at spending money on the Wolves for nearly 20 years until they finally lucked into a couple of #1 overall picks. A-Rod & Lore brought in Tim Connelly who brought in Rudy and completely changed the course of this franchise. Glen Taylor halted the sale because the franchise is worth a billion more than it was when they started the sale - because of the Connelly hire. He's doing this purely for the money. That "report" about them "gutting the team" is pure propaganda from Glen - something he's always done. In their documents to prove they are ready to own a team, they submitted multiple budgets for multiple scenarios depending on how well the team did this year. Glen selectively chose the worst case scenario and broadcast that as if that was their main plan, when it was not. Plenty of reporting from the Wolves beat that confirms all of this. Glen has been more hated than the Pohlads for decades, it's kind of crazy to see an obvious bit of propaganda actually change the perception of him overnight.
  17. Did Joe Pohlad get hamstrung or is he the whipping boy? Gotta be honest, I didn't expect anyone not employed by the Twins to blame the fans for their money "problems" and defend the greedy family. Sure are a lot of assumptions here in favor of the Pohlads. And I highly doubt Falvey is on the hot seat.
