  1. Larnach the Magnificent is calling attention to himself.
  2. Horacek slams the door with a single pitch. Our future closer.
  3. Just for comparison's sake 1967 Dean Chance 20-14, Jim Kaat 16-13 Jim Merritt 13-7 Dave Boswell 14-12 1969 Jim Perry 20-6 Dave Boswell 20-12 Jim Kaat 14-13 1970 Jim Perry 24-12 Jim Kaat 14-10 Some teenager named Bert 10-9
  4. Definitely a killer. Disgraceful even.
  5. Right up there with Brunansky for Herr.
  6. Twins bullpen mowing down the BoSox like farmers in the wheat fields of Kansas. Or is like the corn fields in Illinois? Or perhaps like the marijuana fields of Colorado?
  7. So I guess other than an occasional hit, May will be striking out everyone else?
  8. I'd prefer adding two teams (one in Charlotte and one in ?), have 2-8 team divisions in each league, have two best of 7 league championship series, and then have the World Series.
  9. My dad, being an extremely wise man, knew reading and comprehending was a big deal, and seeing that I loved baseball, got me a subscription to the SN when I was in 8th grade (back when the SN was 90% baseball with 1-2 page coverage of every team, every week). I devoured it and he probably just sat back and smiled.
  10. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Looking at the relative amount of improvement or lack there of, I'm guessing that without a big trade to get an established starter for the Twins, we're back to the days of brawling with the ChiSox over the division title with Cleveland on the outside looking in.
  13. A nice stocking stuffer, but I still want to see the 2020 SUV in the driveway Christmas morning.
  14. No Will Smith though. 3 years for $40 million with Atlanta.
  15. Give Eades another shot.
  16. Signing Gregorius would be great even if he never played since the Twins wouldn't have to watch him play for another team and single-handedly destroy them every other game.
  17. Thanks for brightening up the morning for this lifelong Twins fan.
  18. I deny I said 75% of this.
  19. I think there's a difference between being humiliated i.e.the last 4 playoff series against the Yankees and A's, and experiencing huge disappointment i.e. 1967, 1969, 1970, 2002. 1982 was an odd year in that the young core got crushed the first 2-1/2 months of the season (16-54 at one point) but basically played .500 ball the rest of the year. That being said, this one ranks up there as about the worst there's ever been.
  20. Agreed--the basic line-up will remain intact so there should still be bombas galore in 2020. Sign Odorizzi and spend some $$$$ to get at least one front line starter.
  21. One other depressing note. The Yankee dominated with Stanton and Judge contributing nothing but 1 RBI in game 1 (Stanton) and a good catch in game 3 (Judge). Imagine the carnage if they had contributed more.
  22. Take it back to the second game of the ALCS with the Angels in 2002 and the Twins have lost 23 out of 25 playoff games (including the 2017 WC game). Isn't that just about statistically impossible?
