  1. Littell makes mental note to himself, "don't throw that pitch again":
  2. And three days later Matt LeCroy was sent up to pinch hit for David Ortiz. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIN/MIN200210050.shtml
  3. It would've been nice to see Buxton's name on the list, but I guess we'll just have to wait until next year when the Twins defend their WS title.
  4. And even quicker if they're fried.
  5. Everyone who thought in April that Dobnak, Stashak, Smeltzer, Graterol, and Littell would be on the roster for a playoff series against the Yankees (or anyone else for that matter) say, "Aye".
  6. My son was born in June 1987. 32 years later we're going through it again, except now his second daughter/my second grand daughter was just born two weeks ago. Time flies. Way, way too fast.
  7. Not to be a Twins history grouch or anything, but Berenguer a.k.a. "Senor Smoke", got lit up by the Cardinals in the first two games he pitched in the '87 WS (he did pitch 3 scoreless innings in the Kent Hrbek grand slam game however). I believe his true claim to fame, as all older Twins fans know, was shutting down the Tigers in the ALCS, particularly in Game 2 when he struck out 4 of the 5 batters he faced, which pretty much set the tone for the rest of the series.
  8. So I looked at this year's Sporting News baseball annual. They were right on the money with the NL to include Wash vs Mil in the WC game. They had Minn vs NY in the WC with the division winners being Boston, Cleveland and Houston, and they have Houston beating Atlanta in the WS.
  9. Washington leading Cleveland 7-2 in the 8th!!!! Oh wait, we don't need to worry about that now, do we? Bwahahahahaha!!!!!
  10. Triple header on Sunday? It has happened three times, the last being in 1920. Too bad the CBA apparently forbids it.
  11. Watch the video of Castro's (the Tigers', not ours) RBI single and pay attention to Miller's throw to home--it would appear he has quite the arm.
  12. And remember, without Ryan LaMarre they'd be at 299.
