  1. A-STUD-ILLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. La Tortuga will hopefully wait for a good pitch to put into play.
  3. They took three of four from the Twins at the end of the 2003 season to avoid tying the Mets for the worst record in modern MLB history. Of course, the Twins had already clinched and the Tigers only needed one win to avoid Metropolitanesque infamy.
  4. I’m struggling with what I should be more anxious about — the Twins falling behind by 2-3 runs and hoping they can come back or having a 5-6 run lead and fearing they’re going to blow it.
  5. Fun fact: Over the last 30 games (AB+BB) Sano has struck out about 38% of the time. Over the last 15 games the K rate is about 35%. Over the last 7 games it's about 26%. For the season he's at about 36%.
  6. Which probably means they will both be on the playoff roster.
  7. Thorpe may not have the best "stuff", but he does appear to have the attitude to succeed.
  8. Hope you didn't hope too much. He gave up 4 runs and got nobody out.
  9. There was also a 0-6 road trip to Detroit and Boston the second half of August where they got outscored 49-15. They then dropped 2 of 3 to the Tigers at home -- I was absolutely dying that week.
  10. None of these come close to being the best but were still significant IMHO. Chili Davis (1991-92) -- huge numbers in the first half of the 91 season. Kenny Rogers (2003) -- was with the Twins for only one year but was a key part of that year's rotation Brian Harper (1990-93) -- everybody knows about him, right? Batted over .300 and had 269 RBIs in his 4 years with the team. Plus he had some memorable plays at home during the 91 WS. Henry Blanco (2004) -- don't laugh too hard. He took over as starting catcher after Joe Mauer got hurt early in the season and did a pretty nice job for someone who was signed to be the backup catcher. Morris won a WS game 7 -- he's got to be the best signing. Cruz comes in second.
  11. Phooey on the Phillies -- 5-1 Cleveland after 7.
  12. I just can't help but reiterate that the Twins are simply a better team with Gonzalez in the line-up. The playoff experience he, Cruz and Romo bring to the table will hopefully rub off on the younger players and pay off.
  13. Pitching match ups for CLV vs CHISOX next week would lead me to believe CLV will go 3-0 against them. Clevinger--Santiago Bieber--Detwiler Civale--Cease
  14. Then again, imagine being a Cleveland fan and seeing the KC-MN score.
  15. Odds of Perez getting past the 4th inning tomorrow?
  16. Phillies attempting to do to Cleveland what the Royals are doing to the Twins. 8-4 Phillies.
  17. If you're going to take out Dobnak if the first batter gets on base, why wouldn't you just bring in a fresh pitcher to start the inning?
  18. Soler-Dozier-Gordon coming up. I say Dobnak should be done for the evening--he did his duty.
  19. I recall hearing talk that Adrianza was likely done for the year.
