  1. I dislike instant replay. The whole process is tedious and distracting. Blown calls are just part of the game and can be great topic of conversation afterwards (often years afterwards). Baseball is like life - sometimes you catch a break, sometimes you don't. Things usually even out in the end.
  2. And the day that happens will be the day I cease to be a fan. As the human element is stripped away, the soul of the game is lost. I don't want to watch a video game.
  3. Then again there's the even better possibility that they make pitchers adjust to things that improve their ability to get people out and/or reduce injury.
  4. Anything with the "Kasota Gold" can go straight to the bottom of the list - even lower than the "turn ahead the clock" disasters.
  5. The addition of "Kasota Gold" to the Twins color scheme a year or two ago was totally unnecessary. Wrecked the main home uniforms, especially the classic TC logo on the caps (one of the simplest and best logos in baseball). Gaudy, ugly. Looks like something a teenager would come up with in the uniform design program of a video game.
  6. http://skfb.ly/6Gw8w New "blinged" out alternative home unis, replacing the classic cream ones. Another lame decision, but "this is how we baseball".
  7. Seems like a steal for a solid 3rd base prospect. We needed one of those. https://www.fishstripes.com/2018/9/4/17817444/2018-marlins-top-prospects-minor-league-season-review-stats-highlights-brian-schales
  8. Here’s what Pohlad said regarding Joe Mauer’s contract coming off the books: “It’s not like ‘OK, we’ve got this money now, and we didn’t have it before, so we can do so much more. I don’t feel that way.” He continues to make stupid statements like this. Makes it very hard to continue to be a fan of his ballclub.
  9. I'm only guessing that the field manager gets to pick his staff. But I'm sure the front office has some input too.
  10. Great choices. I'm liking what Rocco is doing.
  11. Similar pedigree to Brewers (now Reds) pitching coach Derek Johnson. Johnson did a pretty good job with a Brewers staff that lacked a true ace.
  12. Let's move on from Dozier.
  13. Best place for him. I wish Kennys well.
  14. I enjoy the rotation, but would really like to see more Morneau. Less Morris.
  15. I'm going to go out on a limb and say I'm positive this issue was covered in the interview process and that the Twins were satisfied with the answer.
  16. Rocco seems like a solid choice. In-line with other recently hired young managers who have been very successful. Hopefully the players respond and the front office makes a few big moves in the off season.
  17. There is only one qualification according to Jim Pohlad: “If I had to pick one requirement for somebody going forward, it’s someone that’s lovable. The only way you can be loved is if you’re lovable. We want someone that can ultimately be loved."
  18. Would anyone be surprised to see Gimenez being offered a managerial position in the Twins' system after his playing days are through? Seems like a good candidate.
  19. They seem to having a lot more fun lately.
  20. I like the return the Twins have received in all of their trades over the last couple days. Nothing to make one say "Wow", but maybe some players that will be major league roster worthy eventually. After so many TR seasons of standing pat, I appreciate the effort to get something in return for eventual free agents. At this point, I've put my disappointment for this season behind me. I'm ready for the auditions for next season.
  21. Don't care, provided the Twins make an earnest attempt to bring him back next season.
  22. Adios, Eduardo. My favorite player the last few years. I really hope he comes back next year. If not, nothing but good memories. Easy to be a fan of someone who demonstrates such joy in playing the game.
  23. So you're saying there's a chance?
  24. July 21. End of the Twins (competitive) 2018 season. Goodbye Dozier, Lynn, Rodney, Escobar (hopefully you come back). I had high hopes for this season. Nothing seemed to go as planned after Week 3. Bad luck (Santana, Buxton, Castro), bad choices (Sano, Polanco), bad/mediocre seasons (Morrison, Grossman, Dozier, Mauer, Lynn, etc). I am done watching for awhile. Hopefully there will be some roster churn in the next few weeks to give me something to tune in for. Blah.
