  1. As I recall, home games were not broadcast on KMSP, only road games and not even all of those.
  2. I'd be a moron. Arraez needs to be playing every day.
  3. Wow, maybe kick back and enjoy the ride while it lasts.
  4. The State of Minnesota as a whole seems to have the self esteem of a 14 year old middle-schooler. I never could understand the constant need for praise from the national media. Do they like us? Do they really like us? Did we do a good Super Bowl? Did you know that Bob Dylan and Prince are from here? Gets to the point of looking desperate and pathetic.
  5. That "Land of the Lost" water feature in center field at The Big A really looks dated.
  6. Good Gibby on the mound tonight!
  7. Well written article stating that Polanco is statistically entering territory rarely explored by a Twins infielder since Mr Carew. Hardly a preposterous statement.
  8. Lord knows we can't tolerate any diversity of opinion or thought round here.
  9. I'm guessing an incestual relationship between the ad agency and the Pohlads (ala the GO96.3 radio fiasco a few years ago).
  10. The ad labeled "current" is not history. It continues to play on FSN during every game. It's also the very top item on the team's Facebook page. Pretty sure the "Lumber Company" ads had zero effect on the on-field production. They were great, as were the "Get to Know 'Em" ads. My point being the current marketing campaign does not promote the team members/personalities like they did in the old days. This is one of the reasons that putting a face on the team is not an easy task and also one of the reasons for a decline in ticket sales. Twins need a new ad agency.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzBzhDXwUKo Classic! And exactly what they need to do again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHe32xIhwzY As oppose to this current campaign.
  12. I think the Twins have done a pretty poor job of promoting the individuals on this team post Mauer and Dozier. My 82 year old mom complained to me the other day that she doesn't know anyone on the team anymore. Maybe a new "Get to Know 'Em" commercial blitz is in order? Speaking of marketing, the recent team advertising campaigns have been embarrassingly bad. Last season's "This is How We Baseball", followed by this season's hot dog stand colored, kaleidoscopic, seizure inducers have been complete flops. Might be wise to get back to the popular Twins Territory type campaign that actually attempted to make a connection between the fans and the players. Might sell a few more tickets (combined with the improved product on the field, of course).
  13. I don't think they have a "face" at the moment. Someone might step into the spot as the season progresses, but I'm cool with a bunch of stars and not one super-star.
  14. Thanks to all this modern age technology there can never again be good pitching.
  15. I am beyond impressed with what Mr. Falvey and Mr. Levine (I can't stand the "Falvine" thing) have done with this ball club in such a short period of time. The strengthening of the developmental system has probably been the most notable feat. There is actual position depth and competition for the first time in many, many years. The additions to the coaching and front office analytic staff should pay benefits for many years to come. I think the hiring of Rocco Baldelli was a great choice and seems to be working. Not to say there haven't been some headscratching moments, but as a whole I think this franchise is headed in a good direction. A think a few more years of experience for Falvey/Levine/Baldelli and staff will only strengthen what they have put in place.
  16. I'm guessing Adrianza is DFA when Sano returns. Marwin and Tortuga can fill the utility role. Seems like they have been showcasing Ehire the last week or so to drum up some trade interest. Unfortunately, outside of his HR against Verlander, there hasn't been a lot of productivity.
  17. Yep, like Roy Smalley just said, Twins stunk in all aspects. Yankees played poorly, Twins managed to play worse. Horrible home plate umpiring. Ugly game all around. Get 'em tomorrow.
  18. I couldn't agree more. A total class act, gentleman of the game, knowledgeable, well spoken, relatable. Brings me back to my earliest Twins memories and yet, here he is; as sharp and relevant as ever. Never go away Mr. Kaat.
  19. Mornin looked competent. That's a good take away from all this.
