    I think it's ridiculous that we hear these old school pundits crying about how the game is so bad nowadays and, in the case of team broadcasters and the people in MLB Network, they have jobs because of the game. And they actively thrash the game. I could imagine that the way some of them talk about the way the game is now is actually turning people off to the game. If MLB was smart, they would dump half their on screen talent starting with Reynolds and Amsinger and replace them with people who promote the game in a positive way and embrace the evolution of the game.

    Well, I never correlated the two, so I hear ya. What I did say earlier is that it's probably unreasonable to believe the new FO could fix the problems of the old regime in so little time. Certainly, that included the development part of the equation.

    Well, yeah, this judge (who is clearly pro-Trump) has questioned whether Mueller should even be investigating the Trump campaign. He comes out and says that the investigators don't even care about the crimes Manafort has committed and that the crimes are irrelevant to what Mueller was charged with doing EVEN THOUGH 'In appointing Mueller in May 2017 as the special counsel, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein gave him broad authority not only to investigate "any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated" with the Trump campaign, but also to examine "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation." I mean, the judge's bias was clear BEFORE the trial EVER started (at one point, he called the Mueller team Liars). His overtly confrontational actions with the prosecution during the trial makes it even more obvious.

    We have had quite a few high draft picks and/or highly ranked prospects do either nothing or have ended up grossly underachieving with us. Do we really think there is no development problem?

    maybe you should read some of the comments he made about this whole trial, and Trump investigation overall, during the months leading up to this trial. He has an agenda. And he is just like Trump, getting his little feelings hurt because of facial reactions the lawyers have about what he says.

    Well of course he's not showing compassion for Californians. It's a liberal state that votes democrat. He couldn't care less about any of the people there. He's out to destroy people who talk bad about him, and a state that votes democrat that is burning is just the kind of thing he loves. Rest assured, the Republicans in California will applaud his attitude though. He actually doesn't care about anyone but himself, but he'll pretend to care for Republican states. I can't believe he's the President.

    This organization was all messed up. It shouldn't surprise anyone this new FO hasn't been able to turn things completely around yet. Probably unreasonable to think they could have so quickly.

    How often does the economy doing well help the average Joe worker bee, though? I know, for me, nothing has really changed. Rich is certainly helped though. I don't know how many people read about this, but apparently when Trump and his goonies passed the budget to help the rich, employers started taking out too few of taxes. So all these people praising Trump cause they got 20-50 dollars more in a paycheck are in for a big surprise next tax season (and, of course, after the midterms), cause the bill will be due.

    IMO, I think good chemistry will help good teams become very good teams and very good teams become great teams. These are some magical seasons we have seen occur. How sustainable that is, though, I don't know because you see teams have chemistry described as great one year then horrible the next and it's practically the same team (like Boston a few years ago). Bad chemistry likely makes bad teams worse. But no amount of great chemistry takes a team lacking in real quality MLB talent and makes them great. That's movie stuff right there.

    yeah, there is a difference between depth and MLB quality depth.

    IMO, with very few exceptions, good chemistry is created when teams are winning, and it turns to bad chemistry when teams are losing. As far as players being leaders, these guys are major leaguers. None of them should need to have other players motivate them. Nor should they have to accept someone other than the coaches, managers and FO getting in their face. MLB clubhouses don't need to be day care centers. And we also have no idea who on the team is a good or bad leader cause there are many ways to lead. Also we aren't around them to see how these players interact away from the field. We do sometimes see loudmouthes get in co-workers faces on TV. Some might say that is leadership

    We are no longer a Republic. Trump has secured his power. The GOP in Congress won't check him, he's ruining the court system, and he can say and do whatever he wants while his followers and minions do nothing. He can even tell his AG to have an investigation against him stopped and people say he's not trying to obstruct justice.

Trump insists he did not know about the Trump Tower meeting until it became public last year.
