  1. Neil Walker is a fine 2B and Torres is pretty much ready. He'll likely be in NY this year and certainly by next year where he'll take over SS with Didi moving to 2B or Torres will switch to 2B. Either way, they won't want or need Dozier.
  2. Other than the idea that Duke was actually fine, I agree with Seth's wrap-up. Duke was all over the place.
  3. Now that the damage is done, your best RP is warmed up.
  4. So it was obvious Duke didn't have it today...so why leave him out there exactly?
  5. So Mauer is playing 1B not DHing, right?
  6. I like Andrew's picks except for Relief pitcher. That's Addison Reed
  7. Offensively, sure. I don't disagree with that. But we aren't close to them in pitching and they are also better on D.
  8. Reminds me of how Hunter was never offered an extension/new contract until like August of his last season with us. That low ball offer did it's desired effect: Made some fans praise the FO efforts to keep him and turn on Hunter because he didn't sign with us. It was a nothing offer compared to the market. Add that to the fact he pushed for a new contract while the Twins did nothing to sign him before the last season made his choice the right one (for him not us).
  9. Exactly. And they came on strong the 2nd half. Putting the wild card label on them to diminish that reality doesn't really work.
  10. Too many want to discount the Indians 22 game streak, saying they aren't as good as they are because that won't happen again, but then won't take into account how they under-performed early in the year. It's like the people who discount Rockies hitters for inflated numbers (cause of the park they play in) and still slam Rockies pitchers for their number (not taking into account the park they pitch in) In the AL the Indians were easily 1st in pitching, 3rd in offense and 4th in defense. That kind of balance makes a team great. They were the only team in the AL in the top 4 in all three categories. Losing to a 91 win the Yankees in game five in a best of five series isn't proof that they aren't as good as their record says. It might be proof that things happen in short series and that playoffs don't really prove who the best team is.
  11. Last year Cleveland scored more runs than we did and had a better BA, OBP, SLG% and wRC+. And they have most of their players back. Their rotation was and still is way better than ours as is their relief core. Their defense was also better. Can we win the division? Sure, cause this is sports; however, most of the time, 162 game schedules tell us the story if who the best teams are.
  12. His defense was less than impressive the few games I saw him play.
  13. Funny, Twins Daily has had a few articles on this situation and made it well known she was affiliated with them.
  14. Wait a minute. Are you saying Papi juiced his whole career with Boston?
  15. Yeah, that had to stink. I'm not betting on Gibson being anything other than the kind of pitcher Gibson is. And that's not good.
  16. I just hope that on the 1st-3rd of June (at home VS Cleveland), the starters are Lynn, Odorizzi and Berrios. If Gibson pitches during one of those games, I'm going to be spending a lot of time grabbing beers at TF that game ;-)
  17. Between Rosario and Kepler, Kepler is the better defender. Stats back eye test.
  18. I think he's talented. I think he's a legit major league starting player. But one has to wonder how much he was helped by what he was taking?
  19. Defense is my favorite part of the game. By a lot.
  20. Hope he turns out to be a good one for us.
  21. Oh, and Fangraphs doesn't determine what a player is worth. It determines a player's WAR and the market determines what 1 WAR is worth based on contracts given.
  22. I believe there's a strong possibility, but of course he could go the other way. No doubt it could.
  23. I believe he's finally better and that he'll only keep getting better. The talent is there. We've seen it.
