  1. If you like going to movies, and go quite a bit, I recommend MoviePass.
  2. The last 10 games you mentioned, he had 3 games where he didn't even pitch 5 innings. 7 of those 10 games he pitched 6 or more innings (and in 1 of those 7 he gave up 5 ER). Basically, six of those were good outings and he finished his season with a clunker (3.2 IP, 3 ER). I know a lot of people are convinced he's figured it out, or will say that kind of ending is fine for a #5 pitcher. I believe only the latter to be true.
  3. Angels made quite a few good moves this year, not just Ohtani. I think they will be fine.
  4. Concur. Should have been traded a couple years ago.
  5. Best thing about getting Odo and Lynn, once Santana gets back, Gibson should (hopefully) be out of the rotation. Santana Berrios Odo Lynn Mejia/May/Gonsalves Next year Santana Berrios Odo Pineda Mejia/May/Gonsalves These are true MLB rotations.
  6. The FO had a very, VERY good offseason. I mean, yeah, Darvish would have been great and Cobb would have been better than Lynn, but the EFFORT put forth by this FO has to be commended and I think this team got much better.
  7. Yeah, Neil Walker is still a very good player. A healthy Walker is a top 10 MLB 2B. He was #8 in wRC+ last year in an off year for him.
  8. 29 1Bs had 500 PA or more. He ranked 19th in wRC+. So, a bit below average for sure if just talking offense, but I'll go ahead and take into account his defense too. He was right around average for 1Bs and I imagine he'll be even better this year.
  9. Bite your tongue (though you are almost assuredly right) P.S. You forgot May,
  10. Go Mauer go!!! He'll have an even better year this year than last and get a 2-3 year extension.
  11. Well, winning an Oscar doesn't always mean the movie is good
  12. But then we look at Mauer's numbers with men on base and runners in scoring position and wonder, do we want someone who does so well in both scenarios batting leadoff either? Mauer In 2017: RISP: .333, .465, .472. Men on base: .318, .425, .444. He does BETTER with men on base and RISP, and he does better than Dozier in both situations too.
  13. Odorizzi 2017 FIP: 5.43 Which would have been fourth on our 2017 team (unless we include Mejia and Colon's work with us, then Odorizzi would have been 6th). And his BABIP was ridiculously low. Way lower than it's ever been.
  14. I guess for me though, the idea that Dozier hits leadoff because he insists on hitting there is faulty. Molitor makes out the lineup. In the end, it's on Molitor if Dozier is hitting leadoff and it's not where he should hit. It's not on Dozier. He shouldn't be blamed for it.
  15. I am satisfied with the effort the FO made this offseason to bolster this team for now and for next year too. Getting Cobb would be great too, but even without that, it's been a very good offseason for the FO.
  16. Been saying a long time now: Hughes should pitch out of the pen.
  17. Odorizzi is going to be surprisingly good with us. We have bigger worries in our rotation than him.
  18. when doing the Mauer/Sano career comparisons, you forgot to include that Mauer battled some injuries too...oh, and that he did that offense while playing mostly catcher...oh and that Mauer has between 5 and 6 times as many PAs...oh, and that he plays quality defense. Lets see those comparisons as Sano plays another 12 or so seasons...If his body let's that happen. Next, compare those same stats of Sanos to HOFer Ozzie Smith...
  19. At least one writer feels we've had a great offseason. https://www.mlb.com/news/how-5-mlb-teams-can-still-win-the-offseason/c-266702116 Twins Modest proposal: Sign Lynn. Bottom line: The Twins have already had a great offseason with the trade for right-hander Jake Odorizzi to go with the earlier additions of relievers Addison Reed and Fernando Rodney and the signing of right-hander Anibal Sanchez. But with ace Ervin Santana sidelined until May or June because of a finger injury and with their young starters still figuring things out, the Twins could go a long way toward flat-out winning the offseason with one more starting pitcher.
  20. he is nowhere near a solid #2. Maybe a solid #4 or #5. We didnt give up anyone of consequence for him so good trade.
