  1. Would you buy 20 PowerBall tickets for $2 each our would you spend $20 for one?
  2. Not a bad pick up for a team hoping to have a guy taking big steps forward in his first full season as the expected starter at the position and with another potential starter expected to make his debut this year.
  3. Can't really make solid judgements on a guy with barely 700 career plate appearances. Need to see a lot of him this year
  4. But one of the two has eaten up over three times as many innings since that trade as the other. Completely changes the demands on the rest of the staff. Sure you can say he wouldn't have signed here. But, when he did sign there the first thought was that the team got a good deal. We would have been wise to have made that same deal.
  5. His performance in Toronto has little bearing on what his performance here might have been. And, truth be told, his ERA in Toronto is almost EXACTLY the same as his ERA here.
  6. Again, is a league average pitcher the return you want for the best SP we've developed in a generation?
  7. so we traded the best SP we've developed in a generation and got nothing. my point exactly.
  8. I'm more interested in what that roster is going to look like by the end of the year. ALL of Jenkins, Rodriguez & Gonzalez need to get significant big league time in 2026. The specter of there NOT BEING a 2027 makes that imperative. We don't want to be sitting here in January 2028 having no clue as to whether any of those fellas can hit big league pitching.
  9. Actually they DID trade him for a pitcher with a career ERA+ of 101...............................................................................................
  10. Now if the two guys we acquired in a trade for the best SP we developed internally in a generation could somehow turn in to more than a back end SP and a 4th OF............................................................
  11. Not saying anything of the sort. I'm saying that in two years they've managed to have two first basemen win Gold Gloves. Nothing more nothing less.
  12. I chuckle at folks that consider Wallner a 40 home run type of guy. Been around four years and hasn't exceeded 22. Even his per 162 number is only 30. Don't think he ever gets to 40.
  13. The quote was that HOUSTON had declined, not Walker. AND, IF it WAS Walker, the prospect of riding the pine can be motivating.
  14. So you're looking for someone to spend THEIR money on payroll like it's SOMEONE ELSE's money? Good luck with that.
  15. How many idiot fans would lose their mind (one way or the other) over Justin LeBron's last name?
  16. Adding Bell probably decreases the chance of Larnach not moving on.
  17. Julien is a bad defender because he is a bad defender. If his hitting returned to its 2023 level we might all be shocked at how much better his (perceived) defense might be. If not, we might all be enjoying his exploits in a St. Paul Saints uniform.
  18. I get where you are coming from but I think if the Twins had more guys like Freeman, Hernandez & Muncy they'd be less likely to move those types of guys around much. I don't recall guys like Mauer, Morneau, Buxton being move around much. Dozier and Kepler were pretty much penciled in at one position as well. If guys like Lewis or Lee became .300 / 30 / 100 /100 guys they'd probably be penciled in at one defensive position and left there for the most part as well.
  19. I'm not a huge fan but it seems foolhardy to overlook Larnach as the LF.
  20. I tend to agree about Keaschall in the OF. However, if a hundred years and a couple decades of baseball history tells us anything it's that having three top prospects in the outfield at AAA means that the most likely scenario is that one of them becomes all that is expected, one hopefully becomes a serviceable major league ball player and one flops. There, we just created a spot in the outfield.
