  1. I forget, was that last week or last month. A path for Royce Lewis.
  2. I'd be perfectly happy to see the remainder of this season look like 1982: Hrbek, Gaetti, Brunansky, Randy Bush, Timmy Laudner. Rookies one and all. Contributors to multiple parades as well.
  3. They need to get the best of the kids up here asap. Get them meaningful playing time THIS year. We do NOT want to see Walker Jenkins getting his first meaningful playing time in 2028 at the age of 23, or Kaelen Culpepper at 25, or Gabriel Gonzalez at 24 or Emmanuel Rodriguez at 25 or Kyler Fedko at 28 or Hendry Mendez at 24 or even Aaron Sabato at 28. I want to see every one of those guys at the big league level THIS year. If that entails a purge that makes last year's deadline look like a high school dance then so be it.
  4. I will also agree, again. RBIs ARE something of a stat of opportunity. And the difference between having the most plate appearances for a big league club and getting said plate appearances in places like Worcester & St. Paul is taking advantage of those opportunities.
  5. I won't disagree. But I will point out that Bell is an experienced professional hitter. I remember, three years ago, almost to the day, having similar thoughts about Donovan Solano who was sitting on FIVE RBI. From that point forward, we don't win that division title without his contributions. And Bell has THIRTY RBI which leads the team so he must be doing something right.
  6. Lucky # 7. Pencil him into the 7 spot in the batting order in LF and leave him there. If Jenkins and Rodriguez can't get here let's at least see what this kid can do. There may well not be a season next year. I don't want to be sitting here in March of 2028 not having seen these guys at the big league level.
  7. Give Lewis a first baseman's mitt at St. Paul and when he comes back up the IF goes Lewis, Keaschall, Lee, Culpepper. Laminate the card. At least until Mendez forces his way into the discussion.
  8. Longtime big league pitcher. I suspect he's been a right hander forever
  9. I'm not a math genius but I feel like you may have you Pennies on the dollar / quarter / nickel metaphor bass ackward. Pennies on the dollar means your getting pennies for something worth a dollar. Pennies on the nickel means your getting pennies for something worth a nickel. Maybe I'm wrong....
  10. "To clear a roster spot, the Twins designated veteran reliever Luis Garcia for assignment, marking another abrupt stop in what has become a turbulent 2026 season for the longtime right-hander." Isn't he just a right-hander? Longtime would seem to indicate that at some point he may have been something else.... Am I missing something?
  11. If you're unhappy now just wait until those opportunities start going to the guys they (and we) REALLY want to see getting them. Jenkins, Gonzalez, Culpepper, Rodriguez (yeah, yeah, I know, I know) and probably even Mendez and maybe even Sabato need to get looks before the leaves start to fall and, sad as it may make you Fedko slots in closer to the bottom of that list than to the top.
  12. Weird how management brings in guys, fans/writers whine about them and then realize maybe they knew what they were doing.
  13. Must convince that we'd rather see him back up than Jenkins / Gonzalez / Culpepper / Fedko / Mendez / Sabato. Good luck with that.
  14. The cautionary tale is and continues to be Donovan Solano. At this point in 2023 he had 5 RBI. We don't win the division without what he did the rest of the way.
  15. Sounds like that's what he is doing, just on a different level than what we might be used to. Guess that's why they pay him a million dollars
  16. Keaschall COULD be moved to LF. But does a zero WAR with an OPS under .600 scream out to move a guy to a defensive position he has less than two dozen times as a pro?
  17. Brebbia does not exactly inspire confidence. Bowman is pitching well in AAA but his performance over parts of seven seasons at the MLB level screams AAAA ball.
  18. How many teams have a home grown closer. A LOT of them failed elsewhere. For example, the defending AL Champions are on the verge of putting Jeff Hoffman back into that role. He washed out here. That's why a bullpen is possibly the easiest part of a team to rebuild. Just need the right guys in the right roles that click with a particular pitching coach or team philosophy.
