  1. Bader had a $10 million mutual option for 2026. Not totally out of the question but, yes, highly unlikely.

    “Buy” the Team!

the other offer reportedly came from a pussy grabber who planned to move the team to florida
  3. I like it but, dude, you just said, and I quote "Minnesota can build a contender." Read the room. You're gonna get crucified on this site.
  4. Weird. Seems like ALL of their OF are either left-handed hitting or right-handed hitting. ZERO points for creativity.
  5. Drives me crazy. Folks like you saying that if either Ryan or Lopez is traded they are throwing in the towel. On the other hand surrounded by rubes insisting that they MUST trade one or both. I'd keep them. The biggest weakness they created by all the folks they moved at the deadline was the bullpen. Bullpen can also be the easiest weakness to fix, if done right, which, they have proven on more than one occasion they can do.
  6. I'm actually sold. If Tait, Culpepper, Houston, Jenkins & Rodriguez are in the lineup at any point in 2029 I'd be happy. And if three of them never sniffed the big leagues I'd not be shocked.
  7. Outside of Duran, Varland and MAYBE Bader that left who would you REALLY like to see return instead of guys like Jenkins, Rojas, Raya or Culpepper? I'll wait...
  8. I'd rather keep Ryan / Lopez and see if we've already acquired that near ready 1B in the Bader trade. He's already on the 40 man. Let's see what he can do. That's going to be a lot of what this season is about.
  9. Sorry. I equate 1 or 2 status with performance not what a guy signed for. His PERFORMANCE at the time he was traded was that of one of the top 20 pitchers in baseball and certainly top ten in the AL. That equates to 1 or 2 status,
  10. I've said this before and I'll say it again: The only thing Twins fans hate more than the team NOT spending money like drunken sailors is when they DO spend money like drunken sailors. (Mauer, Correa, Donaldson) The same applies with going young. Of course guys like Wallner, (SP) Varland and Julien being blocked MAY not have been such a boondoggle. But, yes, it IS time to make way for guys like Jenkins, Rodriguez, Rojas, Prielipp, Culpepper, Raya, Morris, Mendez, Olivar, Rosario; maybe even the other Culpepper, DeBarge, Gallagher, Amick, Borhorquez, De Andrade; and maybe even, eventually, Tait, Quick & Young. (Quick & Young DOES kind of sound like a movie. Or at the very least a slick marketing campaign, circa 2030) Perhaps at some point we should blow out some guys who are probably never going to be part of the solution: Guys like: Correa, Bader, Jax, Coulombe, Castro & France. Maybe at the Winter Meetings.
  11. Not at the time he was traded. A 1 or a 2 at that time. Did we win the deal?
  12. Would I love to see Rutschman having a catch with TC Bear before home games? Sure. Would I trade my best starting pitcher, with two years of team control, for a catcher, with two years of team control? When I just traded my best relief pitcher for a catcher who is rated as high as our second best prospect?
  13. PREPOSTEROUS. Read the room. Haven't you heard. The path forward MUST be to spend like drunken sailors.
  14. And yet THEY have the money.
  15. Berrios. Not about accountability. Just sayin it has not happened.
  16. The Twins have had plenty of success with trades they have made. Just not with trading front line starting pitching. Really good chance that a less than stellar win of a trade of Ryan and / or Lopez has the rubes on this site calling for Falvey / Zoll's heads.
  17. Still haven't cited ONE trade of a front line starter to benefit this team. ONE
  18. Jax HAD to go. Duran & Varland brought back the best returns of all the deadline deals. The rest of the guys who went were probably not long term answers anyway. If the outlook is "hell" as you seem to think maybe it's time to find a different sport to watch.
  19. Aren't you concerned about these folks laughing you off the internet with for typing the words "Minnesota's path to contention"?
  20. 97% of the data has no impact on 3% of the results. I only CARE about what happens with THIS team. I've been discussing this with folks for quite a spell. NOBODY has yet pointed to ONE instance where trading front line starting pitching has benefited this team. NOBODY. Even though I have indicated that there IS one notable example of that flies in the face of my argument. Of course, IF anyone ever guesses that example, I'm prepared to blow that up too. Seems nobody will.
