  1. Fine. Since you are waiting for THE Smartest Man in the Room to announce something regarding the possibility of Rocco being interviewed, I'll do my part and weigh in. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/10/rocco-baldelli-interested-in-managing-again.html#:~:text=With the Padres now in,View Comments (37)
  2. then i guess they should just put the decision in YOUR hands.
  3. I like Rowson but it's a tough sell to tell me that HE "launched 307 home runs with the Bomba Squad any more than HE launched 274 for the Yankees this year or 53 for Aaron Judge. The players did all of those things and in the end what happens on the field is because of the players. A manager / hitting coach plays a small part, an important part nonetheless but a small part. Managers like quarterbacks get too much credit when things are good and too much blame when things are bad.
  4. You have to go back to Gene Mauch to find a Twins manager with major league managing experience so going the route of NOT hiring someone with big league experience would NOT be a shock nor would it not be on brand. AND, you're really going to hate this one, it goes back to forty years prior to Falvey so you can't just hate it because it's the Falvey way.
  5. Totally agree. The fact that he's been retired for 11 years and hasn't taken a coaching or minor league managing job just says he wants this handed to him. Sorry. Not interested.
  6. Seattle is getting results NOW but only because they signed Polanco to a 1 year deal for $3 million less than last year. And they didn't sign him until February and he hit .183 in May & June so what he is doing now was never a slam dunk. Won't even bring up the fact that he hit .190 in the 2023 post-season. Were we seeing him as an integral part of the future worthy of ten and a half million dollars at that point?
  7. Ray Miller was an outside hire. I'm not insisting on big league managerial experience but at least some time on a bench somewhere post playing career. Sounds like they may have read my mention of Nick Punto this morning.........
  8. Why are we overlooking OTHER guys with no experience as a coach and / or minor league manager? Kent Hrbek checks the fan favorite box. How about Nick Punto? Sure, Kirby's dead but, hey, why not?
  9. Nice to see a strong interest in guys WITH actual coaching / minor league managing experience.
  10. Twenty-nine teams are NOT going to win the World Series every year. If you are one of those twenty-nine, you had BETTER be entertaining. We were NOT entertaining the last two months of the season. But ya have to admit, trade deadline day was entertaining as hell. AND, you also have to admit that in coming years it will also be exciting watching guys like Jenkins, Tait, Rojas, Prielipp, Gallagher, Ellwanger & Mendez. Oops, did I leave off Culpepper, Rodriguez, Houston & Hill? Gonzalez & Quick? What about DeBarge? But, hey, If guys like France, Stewart, Coulombe, Paddack, Wentz, Dobnak & Kyle Farmer are your jam, you do you.
  11. Gotta love all the folks on here bitching about the FO. Same folks who cheered when they replace T Ryan and co.
  12. Feels to me like writing an article about a guy who has never managed or coached at any level being a candidate for the manager job of a big league baseball team is just for clicks.
  13. Lee can catch a baseball and throw it to first base consistently. Which puts him ahead of a hell of a lot of other guys who have attempted to play shortstop for this team.
  14. Two things. Not sure why we would "expect a number to be released." # 2: It's easy to spend someone else's money. All that being said, I'd hold my cards and make one big acquisition: Pete Alonzo. He's a Boras guy, we have a history with Boras. We haven't had a real bopper at 1B in damn near two decades. If Martin is your LF, Klemens can play four other spots. Sure, we didn't like the way things turned out with Correa but there might be a way to get something done. It might take longer than we want but that's part of the deal. But, of course, there is one thing you can always count on from Twins fans: As much as they hate the team not spending money, in the end, they hate them spending money just as much.
  15. It only took four years to see a return on the Berrios trade. So, 2029?
  16. Add Jayce Tingler and Derek Shelton to the last and for the love of god take Torii & Cruz off.
  17. The last guy before Rocco that they hired from outside the organization was Ray Miller. My guess is they stay in house this time. Think Tingler or Toby. I suppose Derek Shelton would be considered outside the organization although he was here before he got the Pittsburgh job. There will be the obligatory talk of big names like Bochy, Melvin, Mattingly, Hinch, Snitker but the last time they went big name was Gene Mauch and that feels like a long time ago. The only thing I really care about is that they don't let possible fan perceptions impact the decision. Like hiring someone like Torii Hunter or Justin Morneau. Or Joe Mauer.
  18. Feels like you weren't a Twins fan in the 70s.
  19. 73 pitches one walk no runs. Old enough to remember when that would be been considered a good start. And the manager would have said "go finish it kid."
  20. Then why keep score? I just attended three of my granddaughter's soccer games this morning. The don't keep score. But you can be sure the players do. Does nobody trying to win in the minor leagues make the game better? Could we AT LEAST put the pitcher's records in the article?
