  1. Last season may have been the only time Gallo was even worse than Carlo Rossi. Joey Gallo indeed had a 20/20 season, but this time that means more like Mad Dog 20/20.
  2. Yamamoto - period.
  3. Yoshinobu Yamamoto looks like the real deal. Mid-90s fastball with a nice splitter. This signing would carry less risk than this article would lead us to believe about Japanese players. The Nishioka debacle may have many here snake-bit. But he is not representative of the level of talent with the best players in Nippon.
  4. He seems to offer decent defense too. Looks like he should be a fixture at a corner OF position.
  5. I’ll miss his play-by-play. I sat in seats just below his booth and saw him go out of his way to engage with fans (even me - he didn’t like my Nishioka jersey until I explained I wore it only when the Twins were on a losing streak as punishment).

    The Other Guys

You must have missed Derek Falvey saying Chris Paddock is in next year’s starting rotation.
  7. AK’s error and Sonny’s tough start.
  8. Except there have been some successful but arguably arrogant Sports pundits. Keith Olberman, Charles Barkley, Stephen A Smith and number one all-time Howard Cosell. I enjoyed all four on sports (Keith was annoying in politics and continues to be - Stephen A Smith is actually good on politics, but don’t get me started on Sue Charles). If I thought longer, I could come up with more.
  9. My wish list is for the Twins to trade some of their excess infield talent. My number one pick would be Polanco (two years remain in his contract!). Second would be Julien, third Martin (probably in OF anyways). Certainly, Brooks Lee, Lewis and Correa should NOT be traded. . Next wish - I wish they could somehow dump Vasquez fir something. I believe he has two years remaining. Meanwhile, Jair Comargo had a nice year as catcher in St Paul. I wish that he is ready to bring some more power to the Twins line up (21 HRs in 90 games in St Paul!) - and that his defense is adequate.
  10. Joey Gallo Wilbur be here next year. That takes many Ks off the stats next year.
  11. I’m going to exude positivity. This was a fun season. The future looks like this team will improve. Correa should return without the aching foot. Who knows - maybe Byron Buxton can find some snake oil to take to get healthy. Royce Lewis is here healthy all year - and becoming a leader for this team for the next 5 years, at least. The rotation will likely lose an aging Sonny Gray. But Chris Paddack is ready - did you see his performance tonight????Stop the bitching and moaning - The future is bright. I’m looking forward to pitchers and catchers reporting in February. You will too. I’m We still believe!!!

  13. Actually, I thought his playing style was entertaining. And like him as an announcer too. Then again, I’m also a pro wrestling fan, AEW more than WWE
  14. When AJ was a player, I hated him. Now that he’s a broadcaster, I hate him a little less. (Channeling Ozzie here).
  15. You are correct on the over-managing by Toronto. Taking Berrios out was particularly DUMB.
  16. OK - I’m ecstatic about this series. But not everything went right. Hitting and defense at 3B are two issues. Both would be helped by a return of Royce Lewis to 3B with Polanco going to 2B (improving the defense at both positions. the hitting then should improve with Julien or possibly Buxton moving to DH.
  17. I understand that Six foot, Seven Foot Eight Foot Bunch and the Tallyman …. I know the song. I was in a group in high school 50 years ago that sang it. But I ask again - what are we cheering for when we shout “Dayo”? AND is our “Dayo” a different BASEBALL meaning than the “Dayo” at a Cincinnati Reds game, for example? I understand clapping, shouting “charge”, even the Mexican Hat Dance but what is the actual meaning of “Dayo” when it is shouted at a baseball game. I think it really means NOTHING. i think it’s just brainless. No more DAYO -
  18. Can somebody finally explain what the fans are cheering for when they respond to the “Dayo” cheer? Back when Samuel Deduno pitched for this squad, I would respond to “Dayo” with “Deduno”!
  19. If it was just about the starters, that would make sense. However, the Twins want to win today to get an extra day of rest in order to be at their best for the Astros. This is best for Royce’s hammy, Carlos’s foot, and maybe even Buxton’s knee (nah he’d be sitting out game 3 anyways!)
  20. I would flip-flop Taylor and Castro. Mike Tony Taylor has provided 21 homers in addition to his stellar defense. The again - maybe I’m biased after his stellar defensive performance last night in the first WC game (I know - it doesn’t count gif this).
  21. First they ruined this year’s State Fair with more pickles. Now the Twins ruin the playoffs with Pickles and (worse yet) kraut, and that pseudo-Mayo - aioli. Yuk. I need a playoff punch with a punch that’s Jose Ramirez on Tim Anderson style.
  22. Absent an injury, is there a place for Dallas Keuchel or Kody Funderburk??.
