  1. I watched Walker Jenkins lay down a bunt then steal 2nd & 3rd! I hope Rocco wasn't watching!
  2. My bold prediction: He has more pinch hits than Margot and will play better defense. (not exactly a high bar)
  3. There's still room on the Eeles train! Small players always play with a chip on their shoulders, always having to prove themselves. Small strike zones, big attitude....sign me up!
  4. And embarrassment of riches? Indeed! As the #1 Payton Eeles fan in TD, I can't wait for February to see how all this sorts out. Peace in the new year everyone.
  5. Kirby Puckett, between the lines was beloved for the way he played the game and his charisma. Off the field he was a flawed human being. Dan Gladden had fights with teammates in Minnesota, Detroit, and San Francisco yet he brought a "win-at-all-costs" attitude to the team. AJ was 86ed out of San Fran because he was, quote, "a clubhouse cancer". Winning does cure a lot of ills and if you are a diva like Barry Bonds, you overlook a lot of stuff!
  6. Reminds me of how SWR was rarely talked about despite great numbers in the second half of 2023. He is very young and did well (SSS) with the big club in September.
  7. Love me some Payton Eeles! Little guy has a huge chip on his shoulder to prove everyone wrong. A player needs to play in MLB with that chip.
  8. SSS alert! When I saw him in Cedar Rapids he hit a double to left-center, ground ball hit to right, and placed a perfect bunt down third and proceeded to steal 2nd & third. I met him and his Grandpa afterward. This kid is a specimen! Big strong hands for a 19 year-old. SSS....but wow!
  9. A tad high ranking, but it will be interesting climb. I hope to see him in Cedar Rapids next season. Patience is the watch word (remember Luis Gil).
  10. Remember that we are talking about a 5th starter. Odds are at least one of these young men makes a great 5th starter. That Saints staff should be fun to watch.

  11. I love me some Payton Eeles. Little guys play with big chips on their shoulders! He makes things happen which was sorely missing from the big league club this year!
  12. Help is on the way! I saw Walker Jenkins lay down a perfect bunt, then steal 2nd and third while nursing a sore hamstring. Oh, and he laced a Maurer-esque double to left center.
  13. Last year was outlier for Nolasco. If we cut him loose, he'd win 12 games for someone else and the knee jerk fan base will say "why di we get rid of him'. I think a solid rebound from Nolasko, continued improvement fro Gibson-May and Hughes will be more than enough for this coming year. Calm the hell down!
  14. There are three "buy low" manergerial jobs in the MLB right now. Loaded with top prospects and very low expectations. Teams where even a mediocre manager is going to look like a genious when they go from bottom feeders to contenders. The Cubs, the Astros, and our Twins. Unless Jim Pohlad jumps in over the top in discussions with a lot of cash, Terry will probably pass. But Joe is smart enough to read the tea leaves to see a good opportunity. Wrigley like Coors is a tough place to win, but they'll build a statue of you if you do!
  15. Torey Lovulla is not going yo sell tickets! I think the organization thinks Dougie is impetious and rubs the likes of Ryan and Kelly the wrong way at times. Molitor may not be "one of the boys" either, but they respect him and the casual fans may be inclined to buy tickets in the short term. By 2016 the Twins exciting new talent will sell plenty of tickets on their own!
  16. There seems to be a cadre of Twins fans who are "Twins Oganization Phobic". I would be totally comfortable with Paul, Dougie, or Gene Glynn. Also, the outside names sound intriging. With the talent this system has, whoever gets the job will look like a genious. Talent always rules! Can you say Ned Yost?
  17. The idea has some merit. I'm also high on A.J. Achter, and not just the story. He seems to "know how to pitch". He did fine after a shaky start.
  18. Dream outfield: Hicks/Schaeffer LF, Buxton CF, Arcia RF......nobody takes an extra base on these arms. My God this is going to be fun to watch!
