  1. If Lewis is sent down, and he needs to figure it out at AAA, perhaps Culpepper is ready to next step. We'll probably see Fedko before that happens.
  2. Royce doesn't do slumps. Perhaps this is not a slump and is really who is. I certainly hope not. I have some terrific crow recipes because I've been eating a lot of it lately. Ober and Larnach in particular.
  3. It would sure be nice if the top prospects were performing at a high level to force a change. Culpepper would be a serious upgrade at short and Lee would be an upgrade at second. Fedko couldn't do any worse than the Outman/Wallner/Clemons dynamic trio.
  4. Duran with an oblique injury? That was always the concern with relievers. One would view the trade as a slam dunk if Abel didn't tweak his elbow.
  5. Marek Houston can hit .230 and be an asset if his fielding is first rate. Remember Greg Gagne was a glove first asset to two World Championship. We don't need Arod, we do need Greg Gagne 2.0
  6. While Buxton is an igniter, he has become a non-competive AB with runners in scoring position. With a runner on third and one out, I would rather have Carafini up. And how is the most competitive, most productive hitter not in the line-up everyday? What does Martin have to do to at least get that opportunity versus righties.
  7. The product offensively and defensively at 3B has been better with the Gray/Kreidler combo. Think about that. Brooks Lee ABs all night were very non-competitive. The Culpepper express has cooled a bit, but Brooks needs to hit because the glove is...uh...a bit suspect.
  8. Just when you start to think about cutting loose Outman, he does something good. The same with Wallner. He breaks up the "No-No" and does something Brooks Lee seems incapable of doing: DRAW A WALK!
  9. When was part of a season ticket group at the Dome, if someone was abusive, profane, or overserved we would get security involved. I remember Jim Eisenreich's treatment from, ironically, Boston fans when he was dealing with his tourette's. Heckling is part of the game, but.....
  10. If Outman was coming off a good, productive year at the plate, you give him some time to come around. He is who we thought he was.....Fedko can steal a base as a pinch runner as well.
  11. Duly noted: Wallner and Bell are on pace for 30 HR seasons, we are getting very little production from Buck so far, Carafini ha been solid with men on base. Also (breaking news): starting pitching can carry a team! Haters can go fishing or whatever you do. I'm just really enjoying this ride. "Babe" Fedko is waiting in the wings!
  12. Yesterday I called for sending Brooks down and DFAing Outman. I may have to drag out my crow cook book again. Taste like chicken!
  13. Like many on Twins Daily I've eaten my fair share of crow. I may even write a cook book on the many ways to prepare crow. Yum! The front office like other front office's take risks. Some pay off (Nellie Cruz for Joe Ryan), and some don't. Brian Sebean was responsible for a couple of SF Gants championship runs, yet he traded for A.J.! It's early in the evaluation process. Meh signings of Carafini and Bell are looking very astute for example. My newest "eat crow" statement: Brooks Lee should be sent to AAA and James Outman DFAed. If those guys turn into All-Stars, let the dining begin! Knives out!
  14. Anyway you look at it, he does not have the potential skillset worth giving him this much runway. Even Outman can at least steal a base.Lee, unfortunately, is not Kyle Farmer competent at Short, does not hit for power, doesn't have a strong arm, and is slow. I would love to see him prove me wrong, but seeing Culpepper perform has me dreaming of a new tomorrow.
  15. Houston hitting, very encouraging for sure (SSS). Culpepper is moving to the top of the prospect list. This guy looks like the real deal. Even his outs have been hit with authority' How long can they keep Roden down? He definitely looks like he doesn't belong in AAA.
  16. Rosario was MVP of the Midwest League then almost MVP at Wichita. The crowded outfield in St. Paul would appear to be the only thing holding him down.
  17. Austin Martin continued to do what he does best: put the ball in play and be aggressive on the bases. Analytics hate his style, but he puts pressure on defenses more often than not and seems to put up good AB's most of the time. Home runs are sexy, but you need guys like Dan Gladden and Martin to fire up a lineup.
  18. Greg Gagne was a big part of our championship teams without a big offensive profile. Houston has only to hit as well as Gagne.....not a high bar.....IMHO
