Bell's professional at bat was huge. Without it Kody never gets to the plate. He does lead the team in RBI's as well.

Every organization has successes and horror stories.. Time will tel on these deals. You make a terrific point about how our draft position changed, enabling us to pick Lackey.

Zebby is a classic "innings eater" that gives you 6 innings consistently. Every good staff needs a 4-5 starter that does this and every so often they steal wins with. For this team right now that is more than enough with the bullpen a possibility down the road. Look at other teams right now and evaluate and compare the backends of rotations to ours.

First time agreeing with a Whitey take! Balance is needed. I enjoy the fun give and take, but at some point respond to what is going on. They would be great in a rain delay though. Two or three, but four in a booth?

Twins "Captain America" Plays Real American Hero
Senior Softball Guy replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
A young person has a memory that will last a lifetime. When I met "Captain America" in person in Cedar Rapids, he fit the part. A "yes sir-no maam" kind of guy, very impressive. -
Clutch hitting! Would you rather have someone who goes 3 for 4 and strikes out with the go ahead runners on or someone who goes 1 for4 and the lone hit wins the game?

Not enough is written about clutch hitting. The Twins have great clutch hitting in general. Pat Tabler's career numbers don't jump off the page, but would you rather see him up with the bases packed than Byron Buxton? We have a bevy of clutch hitters now whose numbers don't wow you, but make the hits when they are needed. Ironically, the Buck Truck gets stuck in neutral while guys like Larnach, Lee, and Kreidler put the pedal to the metal when the ducks are on the pond.

After beating the drums for Kreidler, time to talk about Alex Jackson. Since Jeffers went down, he and Caratini have kept our catching from dropping off in any significant way, Considering that Jeffers was on track to the All-Star game, that is no small achievement and makes the prospect of a Jeffers trade more acceptable. Just don't trade him to the Yankees!

Do not trade Jeffers to the damn Yankees! I'm not sure what the Yankees have to offer anyway.

It’s Time to See More Ryan Kreidler
Senior Softball Guy replied to Greggory Masterson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Great article! I was just thinking that having Kreidler everyday is the way to go. You get your runs from the other positions. SS and catcher are defensive positions.- 40 replies

Remember that the Twins won two World Series Crowns with Greg Gagne at SS. You want a solid glove first guy at that position. Hitting is a bonus.

He actually was sick in his 4 for4 game so they gave him a day off. Ut will be curious how far up the prospect rankings he goes.

With a 6 run lead, Topa walks the leadoff man. A rookie does that is one thing, but a veteran major leaguer? You lay one in there and he goes yard...tip your hat, but free passes? Adios Senor Topa.

If Lewis is sent down, and he needs to figure it out at AAA, perhaps Culpepper is ready to next step. We'll probably see Fedko before that happens.

Royce doesn't do slumps. Perhaps this is not a slump and is really who is. I certainly hope not. I have some terrific crow recipes because I've been eating a lot of it lately. Ober and Larnach in particular.
