    This feels like it was written by the Twins PR department. Until the Twins show that they'll make significant payroll additions, we should correctly assume they won't. This FO refused to add to a playoff caliber team two years, so, until they do, we should assume they won't. My guess is that the Twins do a few minor moves to bring in bullpen help - maybe even taking on a little salary - and losing some prospects in the 15-30 range but nothing bigger than that. I think we'll hear rumors that the Twins are interested/close to making a big move but it won't pan out.

    International is so hard to follow. Some of us might remember big money guys like Amaurys Minier, Lewin Diaz (until this year, at least) not making it and small quantity signings doing pretty well. Every year around this time, I think we should keep a list of all the players the Twins sign so we can remember how different classes did v. expectations. But I'm too lazy to do it.

    Kiriloff has a higher obp than I thought he had for all his struggles. That's a pretty good sign.

    I'd trade for Thor and I would include one of Lewis/Kiriloff but not both. But that might be enough. He's got lots of cheap years of control left so they'll want a Sale like return. Which they won't get but if I was them, I'd start by asking for Lewis, Kiriloff, Rortvedt and Dhuran or such. I'm not sure the Twins would feel comfortable making such a big 'win-now' trade. Also think the Twins should also focus on talented pitchers who have lost their shine but that the Twins might be able to fix - Dylan Bundy is #1 on that list for me.

    I tend to agree more with Mike on the topics in this thread. Don't overly worry about market up and downs and hold for the longterm, don't daytrade. I personally love large dividend stocks although it does impact your taxes at the end of the year. But if you can afford it, dividend reinvestment can really build up a stock in your portfolio. We've added over 300 shares of WFC over the years just through reinvestment. That adds up. Trust companies that are well run/strong moats or in industries that are required/needed. Put some money in index funds. Make sure you max out your companies 401k and have an IRA that you contribute to to the max before you put money elsewhere. We've had some luck on some smaller companies - Shopify, Roku, Helmrich Payne. But we've never gone all-in on those type of buys. Probably not a good idea but man, I wish I had bought more Shopify.

    I wasn't impressed with him earlier but looks like he might have turned a corner. Really good sign if he did. Good for him in putting in the work.

    I agree. I think we'll see a handful of promotions after the minor league all-star break and he could be one. I'm sure Diaz will move up as well.

    HIs line at AA is .305/.335/.542. The league average is .240/.319/.361. He's not walking enough - less than 4% - but his strike out rate doesn't seem too bad in today's game. He has some versatility - the Twins have played him mostly in LF and 2B this year. He'll get a call up next year and he'll be a solid bench player/10th man type for us for several years.

    I would be shocked if the Twins didn't sign all their first 10 round picks. More interesting to see how they spread any savings around for later picks.

    Of all our prospects, Javier is the one I care least about statistics and just want him to get at-bats. Hopefully he can stay healthy for us and make full use of that talent.

    These posts on Sano are getting ... annoying. For the life of me, I can't figure out why people are ripping on him. He came back from injury, playing solid defense, showing incredible power and being a force in our line-up. He's already been an all-star for us. I'm not sure why articles like this want to focus on bad things (especially without putting it in any context and letting the reader assume the worst of the young man). It's alarming that these type of articles and posts are being focused on Sano whose had a lot of dog whistling posts on TD over the years. Perhaps we should find something better to focus on.

    This draft confuses me. I'm going to be pretty upset if the Twins don't spend all of their draft pool this year but I'm not sure where they'd spend any of the savings they might have made earlier.

    Holland might turn out to be a solid pick. Callis really liked that pick for the Twins - "Holland entered 2019 as a likely mid-first-rounder before a poor first half torpedoed those chances.     fangraphs guys liked Wallner: "Wallner hit for power all three years of college, even while pitching part time as a freshman and sophomore. He has some of the most explosive raw thump in the entire class, and will hit balls 10 rows into the bleachers even when he doesn't get fully extended. He has some moderate swing-and-miss issues characteristic of hitters who have power-driven approaches, but he's also willing to take a walk. His is a traditional right field profile, and he's in the mix with late first, early second round college power bats."

    I'm ok with this pick b/c most of the guys I wanted were gone by then. Obviously, questions about HS players hit tool can be pretty damning but they had questions about Adell and the Angels are thrilled that they picked him. Twins have always liked toolsy HS guys and they've had some success with them so let's hope this one works out. Excited about our next few picks.

    Stott has fallen in a few mocks I've seen. He, Allen and Carroll seem the most likely to slip to 13. I don't think any of the other seven will. Riley Greene won't get to us but I wish he would.
