    Thanks Mike, I'm just reposting it here. Colin 1:50 LaMonte Wade is slashing an impressive .330/.465/.486 in AA with even more impressive plate discipline. Is it still assumed he'll never have the power to be a MLB regular and more of a 4th OF? Eric A Longenhagen 1:51 I wouldn't say "assumed" but that remains the general opinion. You can find scouts who just think he'll hit enough to play a bigger role than that, though. Just not for power. So if Wade can be a solid avg/on-base guy, even with no power, he could be a nice Span-like guy in a corner? Too bad he's a lefty, we could use another RH OF bat.

    I think that's what the FO was worried about. ML hitters won't chase and he'll be in bad counts and/or walk a lot of guys.

    I'm really excited to see how a guy like Castro can help Berrios. Not just with pitch framing but keeping him settled and calm. I wish his first start wasn't against Cleveland, though. That's a pretty good team.

    Yeah, I know Burdi missed a season but he is 24. I think the Twins should strongly consider bringing him to the majors to see what he has.

    In all honesty, it's extremely stupid. Unless you know more than what normal, "Motley Fool" readers or Barron subscribers know, you're making a pretty big risk. And I think you're older than me so you should be a bit more conservative with the money. You'll need it when Trump destroys our social security/medicaid/health care.

    We've promoted from AA to the majors quite a bit so I'm ok with them in AA. Burdi has 11 innings above A ball and missed almost an entire year so I think it's fair for him to spend two months or so in AA. But at a certain point - and I think we're coming close to it, they should get sent to the majors and then, if needed, sent to down to AAA.

    Yeah, Burdi and Melotakis should get to the majors fairly soon. Neither are that young anymore. It's only been a few innings combined in AA so I get that they need some more seasoning but I hope we see them by the break.

    Put it this way, would you want the Twins to take a rule v flier on Tyler Kolek under similar circumstances? But we probably have a few months before we have to worry about this.

    Probably depends on what their scouts are saying. If he's still hitting 95 a team might take a flier on him in ST to see if they can "fix" him. Only cost them 50k.

    Settle down there, kiddo. There are a few options with Stewart. Let him learn at the AA level despite his struggles, send him to a lower level which he has previously mastered or cut him. The last option isn't happening, nor should it. Of the two others, I'd prefer to let him stay at the level that is challenging him so long as it's not an injury/mechanical issue. The Twins don't have an option of building a time machine and redoing the draft.

    Sure, but Josh Beckett was arguably the biggest ass on the planet when he went #2 overall. The only way attitude hurts is if it makes the player not listen to coaching or creates a bad work ethic. If those two issues are ok - and every article I've read about Greene suggest this wouldn't be a problem - you ignore attitude concerns. Compare Greene with Seth Romero, arguably the second best lefty in the college group. Romero's make-up issues - rumors of drug use, bad conditioning and not listening to coaches - might very well drop him out of the first round. Those are problems. If Greene or McKay or Wright don't check those boxes, you don't worry.

    I'm leaning against Greene and for the college arms - McKay or Wright - but his attitude has nothing to do with it. I'm sure Greene and Buxton and Mauer and any other player good enough to go 1/1 or thereabouts out of high school has a HUGE ego. Some hide it, others don't. But what I've read of Greene's work ethic (and Jordon Adell's as well) is really exciting. I think, barring injury, he'll be a very good player. But I'd go a bit safer with the college arm and take some upside HS arms later.

    Wow, very impressive. I'd like to see him get to AAA (or the majors) this season. His ability to take a walk is something we like.

    Maybe but it's not really relevant. Stewart is not Urias. But he's not Appel, Bickford, Ball, Kolek etc either. There were seven HS arms taken in the first round of 2013. Only Stewart, Kaminsky and Ball have managed to make it to AA yet and Stewart is the youngest. He could still be dominating in A+. I don't know what's wrong with him. Klaw liked him enough to include him in his top 100 and there are probably a few people in our organization who think he's capable of being a good pitcher. They have to figure out what's wrong. If his stuff just isn't good, he's done. If it's something else, hopefully they can identify it and fix it.

    Well, an injury might explain some of his struggles. One poster on here has argued that Stewart has bad mechanics which limits the effectiveness of his stuff and could cause an injury. -shrug- Who knows. Right now he just has to pitch better.

    Barring an injury or mechanical thing, just let him continue. He's young and he's already dominated the low minors. Even if he has to repeat AA next year, he'd be young for the level.

    Again, keeping in mind that I'm just some idiot on the internet, HP has sunk below 60/share. HP is a big oil rig company that we owned for about a decade and its growth allowed me to pay off a bunch of student loans, so I really like it. Very nice dividend as well. I'm not sure if we'll re-buy it but we probably will and it's worth watching.
