    Again, it's just different from the books at this point and should be appreciated as action-adventure with great set pieces and such. The CGI of the dragon was just beautiful. That's one of the best looking dragons I've seen in tv/film ever. Just wonderful. I read the ending as the Starks being Kings of the Six kingdoms, Kings of the North, and King beyond the Wall. It was pretty clear Jon is not staying in the Nights Watch but rather going with the free folk and being happy. That was nice for him. Arya exploring makes some sense for her in the show. There were some dumb parts - especially Bronn but he's a fan favorite.

    Twins have 9 guys on pace for 4+ WAR seasons so they certainly have a lot of deserving players. By fWAR, Buxton and Polanco are both top 10 in the AL. By position C - Garver is #1 1B - Cron is #4 2B - Shoop is #6 SS - Polanco is #1 3B - Gonzalez is #10 LF - Rosario is #5 CF - Buxton is #4 (behind Joey Gallo and George Springer who are listed as CF?) RF - Kepler is #10 OF - Buxton #4, Rosario #15, Kepler #21 Right now, I think Polanco, Buxton and Garver would make the team. Berrios has had a few clunkers but is also in the mix. It would be hard to send three players so guys like Cron and Rosario are probably out of luck despite having pretty good years.

    Off topic but it might be interesting to get a thread updating how some of our non-top 20 prospects are doing. Guys like Cabbage, Blankenhorn, Jax, Balazovic, Raley all seem to be having nice years.

    It may be just me but I'm getting far more intrusive ads from TD now. Usually a banner taking a few inches of space on the bottom of my screen (currently it's a best buy one) and happens every time I open a page. I understand if you need the ads for revenue and I'm certainly not opposed to this as TD is an excellent form of free entertainment for me and others. But, if it is possible, getting rid of the banner ads would be wonderful.

    Again, really good visuals and action scenes and weak writing overall. Didn't really make sense except to show us that Dany is crazy and the next mad queen. Don't really see how she can be redeemed in two episodes (or is it three?). I assume Cercei and Jamie died together but maybe they were just buried a bit and Dany gets to feed Cercei to a dragon next episode. That seems to be an internet rumor. I liked Varys and Tyrion's banter - I always have. Doesn't make sense to get rid of him except that he'll die in the books so he had to die here. Jon Snow's discomfort at making out with his aunt is funny. Arya and the Hound was better/more emotional than I thought it would be. Qyburn's death was a bit too quick. I thought it would be drawn out a bit more so he'd realize his monster was killing him. Overall, I don't like where the show is deciding to go but the action scenes are really carrying the show.

    Yep, looks like it'll be a pretty bad period coming up. I own some Indian stocks that have been destroyed with Brexit and the trade wars - like thousands in the red. Could sell and get a tax write off at this point. Deere is down 5% today. Great company, I think, in the longterm but it might get cheaper for a bit.

    Well, unless that player is already in MN, I don't know if they can get someone here tonight. Maybe they activate Astudillo before the game?

    Offensively, the team is weak at 3B and 1B and 4th OFer. Sano is coming back so that helps. I think Cave can be an adequate fill-in when needed but we could upgrade there. Realistically, Polanco is going to slow down and we probably will need a bit more depth down the line. I do think Sano helps a lot here, since Gonzalez might be the ideal depth guy. Bullpen seems the obvious place to improve. Baldelli doesn't seem to trust Romero and Mejia yet and May and Hildy are on pace to pitch in 70+ games. I think one more arm that we could trust to eat innings or someone like Kimbrall to lock down the back of the pen and push everyone down a notch would help.

    It's a comic book movie. Why on earth, after 20+ movies, did you think people were going to die? Why would you want that? Kids - boys and girls - watch these movies and find role models. They generally see uplifting stories and characters choosing to do good things and getting rewarded for that. They don't need an "Avengers: Rogue One."

Twins: Corbin Carroll, OF, Lakeside HS (Seattle) The Twins have taken hitters with their last three first picks, two of them of the high school variety. Carroll has one of most advanced bats among the high school set with plus speed to go along with it. I'm ok with that pick but I'd think some other players are more likely.

    I'm not sure why anyone would think we should poison the water with one of our most important players. He's doing fine on his rehab assignment and we need his bat. Gonzalez is posting a 55 OPS+.

    Buehler is the one we should regret passing on, not Bennintendi. Buehler was actually in the discussion for the Twins and there was some expectation we'd take him. He and Berrios would look great together.

    Blankenhorn is having a solid season - .279/.356/.442 across A+/AA. My understanding is the Twins see him as a super utility type (maybe their Marvin Gonzalez). He's only 22. Especially with benches going to 26 players in a few years, he'll be a MLer.

    I think Eddie is the team leader in the clubhouse but Buxton is the face of the team for the fans.

    My daughter loved it. Frankly, we need more of them. Why shouldn't those heroic women have that moment? It was great. Was it any less odd than that only Iron Man, Cap and Thor (the main three avengers) first took on Thanos?

    I don't know enough about this group of players to care who we sign so long as we use all our money.

    Seems like Trump is becoming the little dutch boy and trying to plus a lot of leaks with his fingers. Hopefully/Probably can't hold up.

    Glad to hear that Stewart will get another start. I still think he can help the ML club. Good that Cabbage is hitting in A+ (SSS). Kiriloff and Sano might be on the same team at the end of the year, too.

    I will say that I've spoken at public meetings and the like about police misconduct and one thing I've always urged people to do is to cut funding to law enforcement. It's insane how much even small cities pay to support the police department. Use that money elsewhere and don't let police buy tanks for their swat teams.
