  1. GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
  2. The difference between leagues is surprisingly small (currently .12 runs/game), and getting smaller. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/what-if-the-national-league-had-a-dh/ Personally I don't think it's even worth considering.
  3. This is a very well thought out plan, couple nitpics: I think your dollars are light everywhere, except Rendon. Pomeranz will get double that, for example. Way light on the Gray trade, as well. Rosario just doesnt have much trade value. I want no part of Romo. His smoke and mirrors were fantastic this season, but smoke and mirrors never last. I think Alex Gordon already stated he will only play for the Royals, didn't he?
  4. sweeter! I couldn't afford cable back then, so I only got to watch games that were broadcast nationally. Oh, and...rowtheboatskiumahgogophers!!
  5. Chief Jr II and his totally awesome girlfriend will be in attendance at TCF. SKI-U-MAH!
  6. Robot HP umpiring will be a massive mistake. I'm not even convinced it will actually improve ball and strike calling.
  7. I suggest you review the "trade for Verlander" thread. You'll find plenty of objection, based on prospect cost.
  8. Nitpic: your dates are off by one. Sunday, Nov 3, not Nov 4. Monday, Nov 4, not 5, etc etc. Not a big deal, but in an article about dates...
  9. Your oars are nowhere near the water.
  10. In my post I believe I acknowledged the possibility you might find literally dozens of examples that you would later regret. Among the 1,000,000,001 prospects cited. With respect..do the math. Side note re bolded text: You're talking about Christian Yelich here, amiright? Or Verlander? Garrett Cole? Can't tell.
  11. PJ Fleck agrees to an extension through the 2026 season. Couldn't be happier. Row The Boat!
  12. Well, I know that Gonsalves and Stewart are examples 1,000,000,000 and 1,000,000,001 of the vast, overwhelming majority of prospects that amount to nothing. It's the next market inefficiency. I should patent it.
  13. Gonsalves and Stewart are examples 1,000,000,000 and 1,000,000,001 why you never, ever resist trading "prospects" for established major league players. I acknowledge there are most likely dozens of examples in those 1,000,000,001 where you'd end up regretting the move.
  14. I'd say there's room between "one hit wonder" and "above average." Garver put up a .995 OPS with a HR/AB ratio that will be impossible to repeat. So yeah, I think that's almost certainly Garver's career year. As for Grandal, it ain't happening. He'll want a starting job, for one thing.
  15. http://www.startribune.com/early-2020-world-series-odds-dont-give-twins-much-respect/564227002/ The gambling wise-guys think the window is already closed, apparently.
  16. Dry powder don't explode though. At some point, you need to put that powder into the chamber and pull the trigger.
  17. As long as our robot overlord umpires have tails, that can be battled off, Gardy will learn to tolerate.
  18. Ive had the same thought, Ted. If there's money enough for Cole, plus a couple starters like Odo and Pineda, then... ...since we're not getting Cole... ...there's money enough for Rendon, plus a couple starters like Odo and Pineda.
  19. opposing GMs are influenced in their evaluation of Rosario by chatter on TD forums?
  20. Not everything that can be counted matters. And not everything that matters can be counted.
  21. "The financial flexibility is there, with plenty of impact talent to be had." Somewhat off topic, but while i agree with the first part of that statement, not so much the second. Cole is out there, and possibly Strasburg. Am I missing "impact" free agent starters, beyond that? And let's be honest, the Twins aren't going to sign either of those two. So trades will need to occur. "Off the radar" trades are probably the most likely to happen. I like the idea of getting Archer cheaply, if he continues to struggle, you're not out a ton, if he returns to form, or can be fixed, you've got your impact starter.
