  1. In all seriousness, these kinds of seemingly innocuous, small mistakes really add up. Particularly in close games....for teams having trouble scoring... Witness the differences in execution in today's 9th and 10th innings
  2. There are several other possible outcomes if Lee breaks for third on contact when France breaks for home. The two most likely: If the ground ball is to third, as in this case, and the third baseman throws home, we end up with 1st and 3rd, one out. Still can score a run without a hit. If the 3rd baseman elects the easy out and simply waits to tag Lee, we score a run. If you're gonna run the contact play in that situation, both runners need to run. I don't know who effed up in this case, whether the contact play was on. I suspect it was, with Clemens and Vazquez due up. I do know that baserunning is a pretty consistent team weskness.
  3. Seriously? You think a catcher can get off a throw with his leg bent, knee and buttocks on the ground, as from a crouch?? Seriously?? And no...90% of catchers aren't doing this in stolen base situations.
  4. I don't know how many times this needs to be said: The Twins do not believe in slide steps. They don't ask any pitcher to use one. They regularly ignore runners. Catchers are on one knee regardless the baserunner situation. The Twins, as an organization, do not put much weight on controlling the running game. Decide for yourself whether that's good or bad, important or trivial. But it's factual.
  5. Nice. Wander into the game thread late...not to comment on the game but to rip on other posters. And then brag about it. Might be time for some self examination.
  6. No problem with that...if he's comfortable. Some hitters don't like those things. Some do.
  7. And you downvote every single post that even mentions Rocco. Every day. We get it, you can't be swayed by evidence. We're done. Enjoy being you.
  8. well poop. That 3 run homer turns out to be pretty costly. Who knew?
  9. Well, he pitched the sixth. It's certainly possible, since we know Rocco decides his reliever usage before the game starts.
  10. The guy who has been our most effective reliever didn't have a role in yesterday's tie game, but here he is down by 3.
  11. Might have been nice for Stewart not to be on back to back outings today. Of course, nothing could have prevented that.
  12. If you're gonna copy and paste, maybe consider giving credit to the source.
  13. According to this, TK had only 5 ejections during his tenure. https://twinstrivia.com/2013/03/19/manager-ejections-by-the-numbers/
  14. Maybe would have been nice if Stewart wasn't on back to back outings. Of course, nothing Baldelli could have done about that. His poor hands were tied by the short start yesterday...
  15. LOL. Running the Twins right out of the game.
  16. Effing DO SOMETHING Rocco. JHFC I loathe this manager.
  17. Once again, it's a choice made by the Twins. Ignore the runner No slide step Catcher on one knee.
  18. I could have called that SB from Tucson. In fact, I did. No slide step. Catcher down on one knee
  19. Wouldn't be our first left fielder to look like they're playing on ice skates...
  20. Pretty tough AB there, Mr Jeffers.
