  1. $1.96M, per spotrac. https://twinstrivia.com/salaries-2/ Ever hear of google?
  2. There is no sport as good as baseball.
  3. **** the mother******* Yankees. Go Cleveland!
  4. That "competitive runs" category is simply the number of times they measured that player in situations which should result in a sprint. It's not any kind of measure of the quality of a baserunner. All this measures is sprint speed. "How fast does this player run when he's running full speed?" The players with the higher "competitive runs" numbers reflect the players that were measured while running more often, not that they were good or bad baserunners.
  5. That's what I said. And one of those two is one too many.
  6. First off, the idea of trading from two effective starters who will make around $8M combined, in an effort to save money, is pretty odd. Trading either should only be part of a complete tear down and rebuild. Second, how do Correa, Buxton and Lopez go from the core of a championship team in paragraph 2 to not being worth anything in trade in paragraph 3?? Not your best work, Nick.
  7. Baserunning...both on offense and defense, clearly is a low priority for this organization.
  8. That's true if one never ventures off right wing propaganda.
  9. I'd agree Correa was the 2024 Twins MVP. This is also a rather stark and depressing depiction of the mediocre talent on this team.
  10. It's really hard to pull the lever on the Gaetti package with both hands wrapped around your wallet.
  11. The Mets sold for $2.4B in 2020 and are currently estimated to be worth $2.9B per Forbes. So yes, they're worth roughly twice what the Twins are worth. Also, FYI, per Statista the average NYY ticket was just under $66 in 2023, not $276. https://www.statista.com/statistics/203489/new-york-yankees-average-ticket-price/#:~:text=Published by,data was available for 2017.
  12. I don't think there is even a small chance the family is losing cash on an annual basis. Of course, unless you're a Pohlad, neither of us know for sure, since they don't open their books. But Forbes agrees with me. Here's 2023: https://www.forbes.com/teams/minnesota-twins/ According to their estimates, the Twins had an operating income of $19m last year.
  13. They pocketed cash every year, with the probable exception of 2020.
  14. I'd venture to guess there ISN'T a buyer already "on the hook." If there was that would have been announced. I'd also venture to guess their "legacy" is low on the list of considerations for selling. For one thing their legacy is already written. For another, profit has always outweighed other considerations. Why would that change when they sell?
  15. If the goal is to improve the 2025 Twins, this is a horrible idea. BTW, Alcantara isn't anywhere near the 27th rated prospect except on Fangraphs. Top 100 is more accurate. And finding a good defensive centerfielder who can't hit is child's play. Shouldn't cost you your best best bullpen piece.
  16. Meanwhile, back on topic, the Twins have a "multiyear" contract in place with 'CCO. https://sports.yahoo.com/twins-extend-radio-contract-audacy-143700599.html
  17. Gonna need to see your research supporting both these claims.
  18. Neat trick. Pick 2 FAs who fit your narrative and ignore the rest. How about $30m for Seth Lugo and Michael Wacha? You think KC is in the ALDS without that expense? Or Blake Snell for $15 in 2024 and three decent relievers instead of loading up on minor league free agents and waiver claims?
  19. Rocco hamhandedly coughing up that game in Texas was the turning point of the season. Many other things contributed, of course, but that epic collapse was the pivot point.
  20. Watching the MFing Yankees get a 2 inch square strike zone is bad enough, but I gotta listen to Yankee homer costas too? This game was an embarrassment to MLB
  21. The Twins can't afford needed pitching, much less spend anything on a backup centerfielder who likely won't be worth it anyways. The Twins would have been better off this year just skipping the Margot fiasco. Live with as much as you can get from Buxton and use your minor leaguers if he's hurt. That means Buxton plays virtually every day or is IL'd. Use whatever payroll they have to upgrade the front line, rather than the backups.
