  1. The quality of the content on twinsdaily has gone considerably downhill over the years, and it's often tedious to navigate the site on my phone with ads and videos everywhere (or at least it was - not really sure anymore TBH). It's a bad combination. I don't think I'm on the site more than once a week at this point. I feel like the owners have become more concerned with overhead type stuff and profit instead of being visible and providing high quality, passionate ramblings that I used to look forward to reading daily.
  2. Matt Olson went 0-4. Austin Riley hit the first inning homer after the triple.
  3. Then I'm going to add Astudillo to the core six??? of the 87 and 91 teams because he tried a lot and could have been a sparkplug for those teams.
  4. A lot of Twins fans wear rose colored glasses when it comes to Dan Gladden. He had an OPS+ of 76 in 1987 and 80 in 1991. Yeah, he was on both teams, and they mostly won in spite of him. Is that what we're calling a core player?
  5. Poor Marty. Likely best remembered for the tanning bed incident.
  6. His last name's not Cave. I'm happy! Congrats, kid!
  7. I'm going to go out on a limb and say small sample size.
  8. I thought the article would stop after the Carew defense and say something along the lines of, "Well, there's really not much point in continuing this exercise, is there?"
  9. My son had a hamster named Buddy. To the best of my knowledge, he never lost a game for the Twins either.
  10. While La Tortuga is a great human interest story and a seemingly great guy, he is a defensively challenged out making machine. MLB pitchers will continue to feast on his free swinging/high contact "approach". I'm ready to see Astudillo making outs in another organization at this point.
  11. Their fans in the mlbtraderumors comments are also interesting. Their defense/excuse/justification is always to bring up other cheating scenarios, whether it's steroids, Pete Rose, or accusing all of the other teams of similar infractions. Definitely not accusing all Astros fans of having that mindset - just the mlbtraderumors ones.
  12. I'd gladly trade them Chase De Jong. I wouldn't even ask for much in return.
  13. All this while having the 4th fewest strikeouts in baseball. This has been a special season.
  14. It would be a bold move if they moved on from Adrianza and kept Arraez.
  15. 9 total bases out of Sano and Buxton. How many times do you suppose we saw that in 2018?
  16. Felix Pie (from the Vlad video). Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time.
  17. Don't sleep on Morneau. He's one of the league leaders in Wins Above Raplacement Announcer.
  18. It's refreshing to see both Lewis and Kiriloff at the top of the list with multi-hit games, also Gordon. It helps mask the stench of Thorpe's clunker.
  19. I'd much rather see the Twins try to revive the corpse of Ervin Santana than keep trotting De Jong out there.
  20. I'm bored. When do they start the innings with runners on second again?
  21. I believe it was either the KC or Cleveland broadcasters who recently asked Kepler what to call a male ballet dancer, and Max replied with "soloist".
