    Clemens really does not have a strong or accurate arm, I am not sure why he is the defensive replacement in the outfield.

    Zoll has not earned the opportunity to lead this team going forward, he is just Falvey 2.0 He needs to be gone the day the Twins are officially eliminated. Shelton is probably best as a bench coach, he has done some good things, but is not a strong manager.

    At some point baseball has to get back to watching what is happening on the field not on the computer.

    I agree that everything that you list are baffling at best decisions. But I would guess there is data that they will claim supports these decisions. But we will never know how the exact decisions are made but that is why there needs to be a house cleaning. They need a fresh review of everything they are doing and figure out how to build a sustainable winning organization and getting rid of Zoll is the start. And this should happen the day they are officially eliminated.

    Buxton is on the IL, they chose to call up Gonzalez instead of Rodriquez because they continue to think there are no at bats available for Rodriquez.

    100% agree, this organization needs a an objective review and overhaul. The only way to accomplish this is to bring new faces. We are going to finish below .500 for the second year in a row, and they need talent upgrades. They need to reduce reliance on analytics and get back to baseball. Saw a tweet yesterday that said their minor league affiliates made history by being the first organization to hit 700 plus home runs combined, but yet the combined record of our minor league teams is 244-280. At some point results have to matter. This is happening throughout the organization, the process has always been more important than results.

    Trading for Diaz and Arraez does not help us get more athletic which this team needs to do. Identify the team identity then identify players who fit that. Diaz is another DH only player, do we want flexibility at the DH role or not. Those questions need to be answered first, hopefully by a new front office. If you want to move on from Larnach, you can just non tender him, he will have little trade value with his expected arb number and the same holds true for Lewis.

    They have had a number of outfielders this year in AAA and needed to get everyone AB's. So he only sat one day. I am not sure why he would need a day off after the day off on Thursday. I suspect they are going to platoon him and really hope I am wrong.

    If it's to give him a day off, that is ok, but you can't bring him up and platoon him. He needs to be in the lineup every day. It would be nice if a reporter asked this question.

    Really hope the plan is not to platoon Jenkins and this is just to give him a day off. But if you are going to sit him, you could at least replace him with a major league center fielder.

    Buxton was not willing to be traded at the deadline, why keep beating this dead horse.

    Tom P.'s role is to bring in a baseball executive to lead the organization to identify a plan needed to make the team a sustainable contender. Then he needs to allocate the resources and get out of the way.

    Prielipp is a starter, leave him in that role. Piggybacking is just a plan to fail.

    So you have full knowledge of how the Dodgers do it like with Ohtani currently.

    Then there is the other side that we have seen in sports, where a player who maybe could play thru something and shuts it down rather than try and help his team. There are two ways to look at this.

    Or the players understand the real world, where we are not all equal in ability. And they do recognize the contributions he makes and understand that if he says he can play, he will probably be in the lineup. Everyone is forgetting the game he had the night before he hurt himself again. The problem is he can't do that consistently. I am for him shutting it down, but I understand he is a competitor and he thinks this is the way to help the team. At this point, we don't even know if it will reach a point that he will try and play.

    As my original post said, this is the way it is done on every team and every sport. There is a pecking order and some players get more input than others based on their status with the team.

    No he doesn't make the rules but he gets more input than the 26th player on the bench. That is earned based on his status on the team.

    The reporting did not say that directly, I was taking that from the comments being made that it is a pain tolerance issue. Your last sentence is a relic of the past, with the money invested in players these days, if a doctor says they don't play, they won't be playing.

    That's not what is being reported, Buxton said he is going to go until it sparks me up again. The doctors are not recommending he shut it down.

    Well Buxton was our best hitter up thru the all star break, so yeah he will get a longer leash. Kreidler is a AAAA journeyman, so that comparison is apples and oranges.

    He's here for at least two more years, that we need to accept. As for the playoffs, the Twins have not put a consistent winning team around him similar to the Angels and Trout.

    The way they are treating Buxton is what every other team does with their top player, the player gets more latitude in deciding to play or not. And Buxton was our best hitter in the first half of the season. I do wish he would shut it down for the season, but to think this is being handled differently than any other similar situation is not realistic.

    Yes it was too late to bring someone in January to replace Zoll. But he could have brought in a senior advisor type, other teams have done this. Also I believe Zoll had a bigger hand then we realize on constructing this roster during the offseason. He was Falvey's #2, I am sure he had a lot of input into the roster and who to sign and not sign. That is my frustration so many act like Zoll just got here, he has been here for 10 years and is a major part of this mess we are in even if he wasn't the top decision maker. Also Zoll learned corporate speak from Falvey. it just sounds like Charlie Brown's mom whenever he speaks.
