    That is because you don't want to see the lack of roster options due to his being on the roster left Shelty with no options at the end of more than a few games.

    We should try and upgrade over Kreidler for an utility infielder, his defense is not enough to compensate for his bat.

    Houston won't be up until 2029 at the earliest, he will need to have an OPS of at least .990 and show he can hit 25 HR's before he will be deemed ready.

    Kreidler and Roden are two easy moves that can be made. Call up Jenkins and Sabato to play against lefties. Lee can spell Culpepper at short or even call up Ross instead of Sabato. Martin has looked better and right now he is only going to start against lefties. They made their choice on Friday with Caratini, what I am waiting to see if they really are going to go with him as their top catcher next year. That could be a disaster because he is not going to duplicate his June again.

    Well Lewis has only played there when they want Caratini at 1B, currently that is not his position and he has been ok there. They really need to call up Jenkins and play Keaschall there a few games a week with Clemens. Then figure out the position over the offseason.

    Honestly how many more prospects do you want. At some point you have to develop these prospects in to players in the major leagues either by promotion or trade. And except for a few pitchers, we have not done this. This organization has very little faith in our minor league on the position side and is reluctant to call up anyone unless forced to by circumstances. Just getting more prospects isn't going to help this team this year or 2028 and beyond if they don't change how they operate.

    They could have traded for more LH hitting corner outfielders, you can never have too many.

    It's the safe way, I said in a post earlier this week, Zoll needs to walk over to Target Center and talk to Connelly about how to build a winning team. His philosophy is if I am going to get fired, I am going down swinging for the fences, that is a paraphrase but that was the meaning.

    It would be too much sense and take playing time away from Gray. They need Gray ready to come up here and help the big club.

    There is no plan with Rojas, they love bulk guys more than anything else. It looks like it was one of those magic piggyback games tonight.

    Kreidler got on base, maybe he should be moved to the lead off spot.

    Or we could go find his equivalent in the offseason, he is not the only option.

    Nothing has changed from that regard.

    Some of that was that the Phillies adjusted too, they were not letting him expand the zone. There were some no doubt misses, but there were a few close pitches they took. He needed to adjust and throw it in there and didn't.

    I know Preilipp just gave up 7 runs, but this offense needs help and it's not just against lefties. Is Zoll going to wake up and get them some help. Jenkins needs to be up here, put Keaschall at 2B if you have to a few days a week. Right now Clemens is unplayable from an offensive standpoint, he can move around and fill in. But they need to do something, they can't keep doing the same thing and hope for better results. Jenkins won't be the savior, but he should be able to help to some degree and maybe he will provide a bigger spark, you don't know until you try.

    Silly me, I thought the Twins wanted to be a contender. And everyone told me he would be up here on 8/15.

    No Jenkins in game 2 for the Saints, let's keep an eye on 35 to see if he is finally on his way now that the magic day has passed.

    I have no idea if there was a market for Jackson and my assumption is they want Caratini to be the catcher next year, which I am not crazy about. And they decided to keep Jeffers and take the comp pick because they think they are contenders. This move should have happened on August 4th, once the deadline was over. This is my real frustration with this organization, there seems to be no plan and if there is one it feels like a dartboard is involved.

    I thought the Twins plan was to stretch out Rojas, tonight 4 innings 52 pitches with 0 runs and 5 strikeouts. Do they have any sense of urgency. He's thrown 50 pitches in an outing up here.

    It has been reported Jeffers has already indicated he won't accept the QO. This move has nothing to do with Jeffers and everything to do with balancing the roster. You just can't carry 3 catchers when one has no role. I am wondering how many had even heard of Jackson before we acquired him, my guess is not many. So who knows maybe they will find the next Jackson during the offseason to be the backup. He had some nice moments, but he is a journeyman catcher and they can be found every offseason.

    He has an opt out in 10 days, so he may not be with the Saints long, it will depend on how he looks and if the Twins or another team think he can help hem down the stretch.

    First you are assuming Jackson will be available and also you do realize there are other backup catchers in the major leagues.

    For this year there is no replacement for him on the roster. If Jenkins and Emma come up it comes down to Martin or Roden. Martin has been more productive and hits RH. The only way you would replace him is if you wanted to get creative and bring up Sabato or Ross to fill a specific role. As of next year, we will need to see how the roster shakes out. But I really don't think Kreidler has done enough to be handed the utility job next year. He just doesn't hit enough, they really need to upgrade this position.
