    I think the objective in St. Paul is more about playing time for the top prospects. But I do absolutely agree they have no plan. This is why I will continue to bang the drum that either Zoll has to go or they need someone over him that can set this organization on a path. This lineup is very indicative of no plan, they say they are contenders, they sit Culpepper after playing two days for Kreidler and Roden continues to be in this lineup. And how long was Gray up here. I am not sure anyone can defend this organization and say they have a plan.

    Better not call for replacing Roden, look how effective he is, he has 9 RBI's.

    I said it yesterday and I will say it again, I think this shows the front office analytic staff has input into the lineups and probably more than we realize.

    You call up Culpepper, you play him every day. This isn't a shot on Kreidler but he is not a guy who should be getting AB's over a top prospect. Culpepper looked better at the plate last night, yes some rough moments but this is the learning curve you go thru. Hey he got a SF with the bases loaded, how many times has that happened this year. The Twins refuse to develop their prospects, they don't call them up until they have to, they are never proactive. Instead they keep playing fringe guys who should maybe even be in the league. I realize there are many factors involved in the decision of bringing guys up, but the Twins are constantly ultra conservative. And typically the guys they are playing ahead of these prospects are either vets on a one year deal or a AAAA guy. Currently they are keeping a journeyman catcher in Jackson on the roster and playing Roden who is very much sliding into AAAA player territory instead of calling up Jenkins. It just makes no sense. This has been going on for 10 years and what kind of results has it produced, one wild card win, that is the most important stat. This team needs new leadership in the worst way.

    I think they should target 2029 at the earliest for Jenkins, hopefully by then he will have an OPS 1.100 in AAA and then he will be ready.

    You can rotate four outfielders and Jenkins can still get plenty at bats. Especially with Larnach cooling off. Roden should not be on the roster or should Jackson. I think Jenkins has been making his case the past month and to not call him this year is being too conservative. ERod should probably be the extra position player in September. This allows Kreidler and Clemens to stay on the dirt where they are more effective.

    The Twins missed their opportunity with ERod last spring when both he and Roden were outplaying Outman in spring training. He probably should have come north with the team. But this is obsessed with playing the fringe guys and giving them a chance. Now it has caught up with them in that they don't what they have in ERod. I think there may be still be a place for him but not at the expense of Jenkins. Roden needs to be considered organizational filler and should be sent to AAA today.

    It is interesting Clemens and Lee have very similar stats this year and Lee will bat anywhere from 1st to 8th, while Clemens seems to be in the 3rd or 4th spot unless facing a LH pitcher. Clemens when he is on, is good, but when he is off, he struggles. He really needs to be moved down in the order until he regains his hitting stroke again. And if they ever decide to bring Jenkins up, you may need to give some spot starts to Keaschall at 2B. I know we are giving up some on defense, but Clemens has to find his stroke again. He is hitting worse than he was in April .

    He will actually turn 27 after the season ends, not necessarily young in baseball years any more.

    No he's played four games, I will give him some time like most reasonable people will.

    Five of the hits came from the favorite whipping boys, Keaschall, Lee and Lewis. Maybe Bell and Clemens need to start helping.

    Only because the ball wasn't hit hard enough to turn the double play. You are really stretching to defend Roden. But we all know you want all fringe guys on your team.

    Because Culpepper has had good at bats, Roden has not tonight or has he done anything in over 200 plate appearances.

    That's the problem there are no options on the bench. If Jenkins was in the lineup, you might have had Larnach available to pinch hit, a lot better than the other options.

    Actually it was so weakly hit, they couldn't turn the double play, so it did get a run in by making contact.

    This is the same management that brought Gray back up when Buck went on the IL. Would you really put this past them. I hope there isn't either but after the Gray decision they have lost most credibility with me.

    I think they need to play Kreidler and Gray up the middle the rest of the year and then get sized for their World Series rings.

    Clemens is now 4 for 35 in August, may need to move him down in the order.

    I really don't know why they don't swap Roden for Jenkins, it seems pretty simple. Figure out Buxton when they activate him, but they do have a player on the bench that they refuse to play.

    Its for the ROY for next year and a possible comp pick, way overthinking in my mind if that is why he is not up here.
