You call up Culpepper, you play him every day. This isn't a shot on Kreidler but he is not a guy who should be getting AB's over a top prospect. Culpepper looked better at the plate last night, yes some rough moments but this is the learning curve you go thru. Hey he got a SF with the bases loaded, how many times has that happened this year.
The Twins refuse to develop their prospects, they don't call them up until they have to, they are never proactive. Instead they keep playing fringe guys who should maybe even be in the league. I realize there are many factors involved in the decision of bringing guys up, but the Twins are constantly ultra conservative. And typically the guys they are playing ahead of these prospects are either vets on a one year deal or a AAAA guy. Currently they are keeping a journeyman catcher in Jackson on the roster and playing Roden who is very much sliding into AAAA player territory instead of calling up Jenkins. It just makes no sense.
This has been going on for 10 years and what kind of results has it produced, one wild card win, that is the most important stat. This team needs new leadership in the worst way.
