    You can send Gonzalez or Jackson down, give Ross a run to see if there something potentially there. Maybe we could avoid bringing in more AAAA types for middle infield next year.

    I think you can assume the Pohlads are still the owners, I keep seeing this on different threads. Is this wishful thinking or are there reports out there that I missed saying they are exploring a sale. I thought at the time they pulled the team off the market they said something to the effect that they weren't going anywhere. I know things can change and they may not say anything but it seems like its going to be a couple of years at least before it is explored.

    Kremer is just another league average at best veteran who will block a spot for younger guys who have earned a shot to be in the rotation. We need to get off this treadmill at some point. If you want to keep him for depth, put him the bullpen as the long guy, that is better use of resources.

    Zoll brought in veterans like Bell and Taylor Rogers to assist the young talent These signings were made when Falvey was still here, so I am not sure how Zoll gets complete credit, he might have worked on them with Falvey but he was not in charge. As for Shelton, I am not convinced he is the long term answer. He seems to handle the clubhouse better and definitely put together a better coaching staff. I don't think he is great at managing the roster and in game decisions. It will really come down to is Zoll coming back if not, Shelton probably has one more year similar to Molitor being kept after one year when Falvey was hired. Yes Molitor lasted two years because he exceeded expectations Falvey's first year and he couldn't reasonably move on from him.

    I know the comment was in fun, but I am not down on Clemens, I want him in a different role that hopefully makes the team better. Because that would mean we have raised the floor at other positions.

    Give Ross a run at 2B to see if he has the potential to be the backup middle infielder next year. Clemens should not be a starter, he needs to be a utility type moving around the field and hitting 6th or 7th in the lineup, so he doesn't need to start every game.

    I figured they would be a .500 team at best and that was hoping everything came together. You seem to forget that Zoll helped build this roster, he was Falvey's #2 and by all reports Falvey managed by consensus. So Zoll doesn't get a pass from me for a couple of decent trades. Roster mismanagement has been an issue all year and who knows what the record would have been if managed better. And one of his trades is going to mean the blocking of younger pitchers with more upside next year with the trade for Kremer. It was a good trade for depth for this year, but he will be given preference next year over all the younger pitchers unless there is a change in leadership. Zoll is not the one to lead this organization.

    Have you watched them play, they are competing in words only. At some point you have to do an honest self assessment and this team has been out of it for about the last 10 days in reality, just not on paper.

    Could it be a player or players traded at the deadline last year contributed to poor morale.

    That should not be Tom's role he needs to bring in an experienced baseball leader and let him come up with a plan and present it to him at a macro level. Then tell him to go execute the plan and build a sustainable winner. Pohlad knows nothing about evaluating players he needs someone to do that and get out of the way.

    Actually Chourio was putting up sub .600 OPS and he was not sent down, that is the comp to me for Jenkins.

    Or you let them work thru it like Chourio and Merrill were allowed. I get there is a balance, but I am not in favor of sending him back after one month. He is taking good at bats and is not taking his struggles into the field.

    And you still don't know whose decision it was. I look at history and Falvey was more inclined to have a veteran regardless of ability on the roster. The times that I remember him calling up guys was when they had no choice, he rarely if ever forced the issue. And Zoll is following the same playbook. So to say Falvey wanted to rebuild, I have a hard time buying it.

    A rebuilding team would not have tendered him, so keep going with your fantasy that Falvey was going with a rebuild.

    You take everything I say out of context. What have they done to elevate this team to be a winning team as middle of the order bats. We are 7 games under .500 and who knows after this game. I have higher expectations than you do and want to see the talent level raised on this team. Of course you were the one that insisted that Jackson would be claimed 100% guaranteed if the Twins released him, that one didn't work out so well.

    So Larnach was tendered by Falvey and we don't when the conversations started for Bell but typically they are not done in a day. So my guess is that was Falvey because that was his m.o. throughout his tenure.

    He deserves to start spring training as one of the first five and if someone beats him out then he can start in St. Paul.

    Show the reports that say Tom took over in November. Falvey did a poor job of building this team because he knew he could keep contending with a middle of the road team in the Central. You can keep defending him all you want, but he has put this team in a hole and his protege is digging it deeper.

    Falvey made the decision to tender Larnach before the ownership changes were announced. And he signed Bell right after that. He wasn't showing signs in the offseason of a rebuild and he has never believed in that. At the trade deadline, Tom P. made the business decision to keep playing for the playoffs which was a bad decision then and it still is.

    Someone needs to play for Zoll The Gambler, "know when to hold em, know when to fold em". You have a 3% chance at the playoffs, get realistic, it is not going to happen.

    He could get every day AB's up here as well, they choose not to give those to him but they are available.

    The players they insist on playing every day have led us to 7 games below .500, at some point you need to be smart and find out what you have in the younger players. This is why we end up with players like Outman, Gray, Kreidler and other AAAA types on the roster and keep riding the mediocrity train.
