    The Tigers are sitting Torres, Baez and Torkelson to play the young guys. That is what a well managed team does when they are not going anywhere.

    Four of them have been up starting in August, I don't believe that's the majority of the season. And it's easy, sit Larnach, Bell and give more playing time Ross at 2B.

    What are the Tigers doing, they are starting 6 rookies, they obviously have an incompetent front office.

    This was also the downside of the Bell signing. I truly believe Emma would have been starting in LF on opening day and Larnach would have been the DH if Bell wasn't signed. At least we would have an idea of who he is even if we missed the playoffs. Instead barring a miracle we are going to miss the playoffs and we have no idea what he can do up here.

    I agree but I would like to see an upgrade over Kreidler for the backup SS position. He just can't hit, it would be nice to have more possibility of getting a hit at that position.

    A player like Jenkins you take the risk, he is not a fringe prospect quit treating him like one.

    Kremer has not outpitch anyone enough to earn a spot for next year. Either non tender him or put him in the bullpen.

    Ross and Kreidler are redundant, move on from Kreidler before he hurts someone on a pop up.

    Well since we mostly get good Zebby, I am going to be optimistic and say that is what we will see again.

    He has earned a shot based on his play at AAA. He is a potential cornerstone of this team, you let him play through his struggles. Other teams have done this and been rewarded, need to have some patience,

    Well it is Zoll in charge and he has no plan other than to run the same players out there and hope for better results.

    He has been playing good defense at 1B, he has earned the right to make that his defensive home.

    The one outside pitch he swung in this game, he took to RF. Every game thread and summary it's the same thing whether it happens or not. And he is not the only one that struggles with the low outside pitch.

    I agree that Zoll was really the only option with the timing of Falvey's departure. But he has had a major say in this team's construction for the last 5 years. He has had a chance and we need to move on soon.

    Emma will likely be out of options, he wont be in AAA.

    Are you suggesting their record is better. Zoll while not the final say helped build the roster last year that was 22 games under .500 and helped build the roster going into this season. He made a couple of good trades at the deadline but he has made other moves that have not built off of that. Thus our record is worse than at the deadline.

    I am not ready to give up on Lewis, the production when he came back up shows there is still talent in there and he has looked good at 1B. I think they should give him one more year unless it is for a proven major league middle of the order bat. That is why I am not in favor of Clemens, I think Lewis is better defensively than Clemens and on offense if he shows his production from when he first came back up is superior as well. I know he has to show it and be more consistent but I would not give up on him. And I still believe Clemens is better utilized in a utility role playing 3 to 5 days a week. I would really love his bat coming off the bench to pinch hit versus what we have had this year. And the question is still there, has he peaked, none of us knows the answer to that.

    They need to pick a spot and let him work at it and get comfortable so he can improve. He is not a utility type player, he needs to focus on one position.

    This roster was constructed by Falvey with help from Zoll. Falvey didn't leave until right before spring training.. And the moves Zoll has made during the season have done nothing to improve the team. Our record is worse since the trade deadline and he has carried Jackson on the roster for the last two months for no reason.

    It was Falvey who made the final call on the signings. Zoll was still number 2. What I can do is look at results, 1 playoff appearance in six years with Falvey and Zoll as the top two baseball decision makers. It is their job to put together a sustainable winning organization and they haven't done it.

    This is why we need a real baseball leader that can come up with a plan and help the business side sell it to the fans.

    I would have used the money on the bullpen which was a real need. Other teams can win without huge payrolls but Falvey was unable to work with the resources given him.

    Falvey set this roster not Zoll. Falvey had at least $14m to spend last year and he chose to spend it on Bell to play 1B and Caratini as the backup catcher after trading for Jackson. I am fairly certain Zoll had a hand in this roster construction during the offseason as Falvey's right hand man. This is not on ownership, this is on Falvey and Zoll who have constructed a team that will have made the playoffs once in the past six years unless they pull off a miracle this year.
