  1. Actually the front office for Houston wanted him, not sure if there were other offers after the Astros owner pulled the plug.
  2. The reason for the throw to third was a teammate was telling him to go to third. In the moment when that happens you are going to where a teammate tells you that you have a play.
  3. Teams rely on rookie relievers, they have actually moved him to a 7th inning role. He had a perfect inning against Atlanta in between the two bad outings and 5 scoreless outings before that. There is no margin of error for relievers, I think you are being a little too quick with this judgement. Let's see how he bounces back.
  4. There are going to be games like last night for Morris but I am not sure he is reaching his limits. The defense didn't help last night, How much different does the inning look if there is not catcher's interference and he gets Fermin out. Lee missing the throw at third as well. Yes the pitcher has to pick up his fielders at times, but that inning was a cluster and I am not sure how you can put it all on Morris.
  5. Thank you for the update. I am hoping that ERod is the call up on Sept 1, and gets a couple of starts and maybe be the defensive replacement for Larnach. I am not completing giving up on Walker but it does feel like it's not going to happen.
  6. That is the way I saw it live and I was glad Lee confirmed it. It feels like people are waiting for Culpepper to fail, I like what I have seen so far, he will have a learning curve but he seems to be settling in. One other question, how is ERod looking, the results have been there, is he shaking off the rust from being out or is there still more to work on.
  7. Lee postgame said he was the one to call for the throw to third and that it was a good throw, he tried to make the tag too quick. So Lee is saying the play was on him and even Shelton said it was a 50/50 call of where to go with the ball.
  8. Zoll should be the one leading this process, Pohlad should have nothing to do with player personnel decisions. He should only have a say if it related to the budget.
  9. But if Bell is the supposed leader that everyone makes him out to be, that is the exact situation he needs to produce in and he doesn't do it nearly enough.
  10. Maybe we need to quit relying on fringe veterans to be key contributors and not carry a third catcher that won't play. He is here for a situation that may occur once or twice a week.
  11. And our RBI leader struck out in that situation.
  12. Who put the jinx on Nance about his scoreless streak.
  13. Jenkins would be this way based on what. And I am not sure the catcher's interference had anything to do with Jeffers worrying about his brand.
  14. Well it does help when you have Mason Miller in the bullpen.
  15. Can we get a real outfielder to play for defensive purposes late in the games.
  16. That would have been a strike, it was not outside as you originally claimed.
  17. And the pitch was in the lower half of the strike zone on Gameday.
  18. But the last hit was to the right side, not sure how he pulled that one.
  19. That batting ave of .324 and OPS of .867 in August, but Lewis hasn't helped at all. Don't think it is reasonable to compare current production to Buxton and Larnach.
  20. That pitch was in the zone and would have been a strike. He has been laying off the low outside pitch better, that pitch was not outside but he did go with the pitch.
  21. Another team doing the unthinkable, pinch hitting their second catcher without a third catcher on the bench. And here I thought the Twins had the smartest front office in the league.
  22. I actually think Shelton has done a good job with the bullpen up until the past week or so. It is like he is not adjusting to the time of the season where maybe the starters can't be stretched as much. Or the urgency of the games where you have to be quicker to react. I just don't understand what he is thinking.
  23. He's blowing past his season high for pitches thrown in a game as well. You would think the analytic nerds would have given him this stat before the game.
  24. So a lefty to face Merrill when there are two righties before him, this makes no sense.
  25. Why is Shelton so gun shy on going to the bullpen, he actually has some competent arms down there now.
