  1. Unless your name is Alex Meyer. We may need to check the back of the milk cartons to find him... :-(.
  2. old nurse, on 30 May 2016 - 04:37 AM, said: Maybe Mauer needs to play in a dome capable field. Career .849 OPS in Seattle, 942 in Milwaukee, 1.182 in Miami .939 at Chase. All better than his career OPS of .844 I agree with Nursie on this one! Mauer was a terror at the plate in the Metrodome as well. Of all Twins players, his production dropped off the most when the Twins moved to Target Field.
  3. I was thinking that the Twins sweeping the Mariners in Seattle almost makes up for the Vikings losing to Seahawks in the playoffs.... NAH!
  4. Still no Alex Meyer, eh? He is listed on the active Red Wings roster, but has not pitched since he was sent back down three weeks ago.
  5. It appears that Buxton continues to progress in Rochester, which is awesome! The same can not be said about Murphy, however, unfortunately.
  6. Thanks for the update on Meyer, Seth. I was going to suggest they put his face on a milk carton if he had not heard something soon.
  7. Nice to see Gordon returning to action. Hopefully he can stay hot. Buxton could have really sent the TD posters over the edge if he would have came thru in the 9th with a man on and two out. Unfortunately he did not. Still, it looks like he is making some strides at the plate and on the base paths.
  8. Rochester has promoted its 3 top starting pitchers to the Twins over the past few days. So you would expect they would struggle, correct? WRONG! Yesterday Jason Wheeler gave up only one run over 7 innings in his first start in Rochester. Today Logan Darnell (yes THAT Logan Darnell) tosses a complete game 4 hit shutout against Buffalo (I dare say he is a strong leader in the club house for Twins MILB pitcher of the day). The Twins should be ashamed at the starting pitching depth in their system... ;-)
  9. Well at least the Twins lead the league in something - that being blown saves.
  10. Is there a better reliever in the system than Chargois right now? I know, SSS, but 1 ER, 1 walk, 10 K and a 0.57 WHIP is impressive.
  11. Yup - 7 innings today with no runs and only 2 singles. Very nice to see.
  12. DANG! Maybe someone also spoke to him or sat next to him in the dugout!
  13. Berrios has a no hitter going no thru 5 innings against Pawtucket. One walk, seven strikeouts. 68 pitches. Wings up 3-0. He must be trying hard to keep up with Meyer's hot start!
  14. A week ago I posted that I was concerned that the Korean term "Byung Ho" translates to "strikes out" in English. I'd like to modify that. I believe it actually means "strikes out or hits long home run". :-)
  15. I have one word for this team right now. BOOOOOOOO!
  16. I wonder if the Twins realized when they invested in Park that the Korean term "Byung Ho" translates to "Strikes Out" in English.... Sorry - I know it is early in the season and I really hope Park is able to adjust to become a decent MLB hitter.
  17. 265/.360/.535 (.896 OPS) 31 HR, 34 Doubles, 85 walks, 155Ks and a number that I don't see commenting on above, 102 RBI.
  18. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear the "bust of the season" will be Park.
  19. Yup - no surprises here. The Twins need to give Arcia and D. Santana every chance possible to see if they can stick in the Big Leagues.
  20. Nolasco's trade value may never be higher! Get on the phones TR!
  21. Unfortunately I predict that Joe will lead the league in taking first pitch strikes. He'll also rank high in GIDP, and be near the top of "things that should be changed on the Twins" discussions on the site.
  22. Seth - How did Perkins look to you? Is he healthy? Did he change his offseason regimen at all to try and prevent the second half problems he has had the past two years?
  23. Park with his 2nd spring tater! NICE! Two on and nobody out in the 1st and Joe "the rally killer" Mauer hits into a double play. Some things never change. Keep Duffey away from Toronto and he'll be fine.
  24. I was a Carew fan growing up, but Kirby certainly stole my heart as well. I remember listening to his first game on the radio while in college and Herb trying to describe that 4 hit game by this new guy. What was Reggie Jackson's comment about Kirby - something like "he's just another slap hitter." Reggie was never very perceptive! The 1987 and 1991 seasons are the best memories for many Minnesota sports fans, and Kirby was right at the center of it. I proudly displayed my Puckett jersey in my cube for about a week after he died. I received many positive responses to that, and many great memories of Kirby.
