  1. "The beatings will continue until morale improves" does not even begin to express my disappointment for this injury. %@%%%#$%%#$%! is more like it.
  2. Sounds like the Nolasco syndrome still exists with the Twins...
  3. I'm not sure of having 5 outfielders AND Santana on the roster. I suppose that gives them room to flex up to 13 pitchers if needed.
  4. I believe this is close, Thrylos. The only concern I have/clarification I need is who is your back-up at 1B? I know people throw out Sano's name, but he has played first a total of 14 inning in his professional career. That is like 2 innings PER YEAR. Thoughts?
  5. The phrase "The beatings will continue until moral improves" comes to mind...
  6. Bummer for the Cardinals. As a fan of baseball, I hope he has a full recovery. It does not look like overuse caused this as he only pitched 111 innings last season
  7. Here is hoping that the 2018/19 Twins rotation looks like the 2015 Mets rotation. ;-)
  8. Just read a Star Trib article on the presser that said Antony will be VP of BB Operations and Assistant GM.
  9. Any chance that Jim Kaat will be available? SIGH!
  10. Alex is one of several Twins rejects on the Angels staff right now, joining Achter, Nolasco and Deolis Guerra who, by the way is having a very good season. Maybe his is the next "one that got away" now that Ortiz is retiring...
  11. The biggest take aways for me from this article is you better hire the right people, not the right names. Also, landing a top of the rotation ace does not solve all ills. People have been on the Twins for being "cheap" and not going after the top pitching free agents. Keep in mind that both Nolasco and E. Santana were each in the "top 10" of their respective Free Agent classes. The problem is that the Twins are not drafting and developing their own quality players - especially starting pitchers. Obviously Arizona was not either, and they are paying the price as well.
  12. I think I would have voted for Nick Greenwood for at least co-pitcher of the day. His line - went 7.0 innings, gave up four hits, no runs, no walks, and struck out five is pretty darn good!
  13. Is there something wrong with Nick Gordon or is he just wearing down from a long year? I'm not liking the .158 BA over the last 10 games - especially since he was very solid at the plate this year.
  14. I was under the impressing that the English translation of "Byungho" was "Strikes Out". I may be wrong as it may mean "hides injury". All kidding aside, I also wish him a speedy recovery. He has shown flashes of a very potent bat (if the Twins can find a place for him in the lineup).
  15. Any idea why Buxton has not started for Rochester the past 3 games? Good to see he at least pinch ran yesterday.
  16. I'm of the mindset that even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile, but the Twins are trying to prove that axiom wrong in their ability to draft and develop top of the rotation starting pitching. Berrios and Gonsalves have a chance but the Twins track record, unfortunately, does not breed confidence in that occurring.
  17. I just gagged on my Fruit Loops!
  18. Any news on Alex Meyer? Last I heard he was shut down thru the end of June.
  19. I take it Plouffe did not qualify to be ranked? Seems like he has played as much 3B as Escobar has SS.
  20. As you can see from my signature line and profile icon, I have NO issues with this. Well deserved for both players.
  21. Right now the position player in the minors I'm watching the most is Gordon. Appears to be doing fine in Fort Myers. Any chance he gets bumped up to AA in the near future?
  22. I believe the Twins will rotate Mauer, Plouffe and Sano at DH. Remember Plouffe has been struggling with a sore knee, so DHing him a bit more would make sense.
  23. Agreed! BTW - who should and will be the Twins rep? Does Joe get the invite based on his past experience?
  24. Anyone know what is up with Nick Gordon? He hasn't played since last Thursday.
