  1. Just like real estate values, pitching depends on location, location, location.
  2. Well I certainly don't feel any better after reading this. I don't think we can count on any of these guys to be effective difference making pitchers this season. Hope I'm wrong.
  3. I like the fact that he is a lefty. But the Twins need some catching prospects. The top 2 available are : Parada and Susac. I hope the Twins get one of them.
  4. The Cardinals have Tommy Edman playing SS with a 2022 WAR of 3.6. They don't need a SS.
  5. I have really enjoyed the Sonny Gray and Chris Archer interviews during the Twins games. Those two pitchers are really nice, humorous persons. It helps me realize these players are humans, who you would like as next door neighbors.
  6. 1) All reports indicate he is a very good influence on the rest of the pitching staff this season; 2) Wes Johnson will be leaving soon; 3) He is the anchor of the Twins staff; 4) He is a good guy and a good pitcher. Sign the man to an extension.
  7. North Carolina Eastern BBQ - pulled pork with a vinegar based sauce.
  8. Tuscaloosa is in Alabama. LSU is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I prefer Juicy Lucies. to Alabama BBQ.
  9. I wish Wes the very best of luck, except when LSU plays the UNC Tarheels.
  10. I anticipate that opposing teams will soon start playing the "Kepler shift" when Kepler is at bat. The first baseman and the second baseman will play in their regular positions. All the other defenders will take this opportunity to go into the dugout and drink gator aid and watch as Kepler hits a 2 hopper to the second baseman.
  11. If Petty stays healthy, he may become the most valuable of all of these players who have been drafted by Falvey. He was very impressive when I was at Spring Training this year. He was the pitcher, who, when warming up, the other players and coaches would watch. His sizzling pitches were darting in and out of the strike zone. He is a special talent who will be successful in the majors for many years. Therefore, Falvey gets an A+ in drafting Petty. However, in my report card, Falvey gets an F for trading him away, even though I love Gray. I would have made Petty untouchable in a trade. I understand the injury risk with an 18 year old fire-balling pitcher, but I tell you, Petty is special and is worth the risk. In three years the Reds will have Hunter Greene and Chase Petty as two young exciting and personable "Aces".
  12. His fielding at SS is aptly described by Tom Froemming as "smooth". I saw Noah Miller at spring training this year and was immediately impressed with his glove work.
  13. I don't know about you, but every new job I have ever had required time for me to learn the job and to get up to speed. I have been an umpire in Little League games, a grocery bagger, a machine operator in a cardboard factory, a laborer in a plywood factory, a door to door dictionary salesman, a laborer in the water and sewer department (i.e. a ditch digger), a cab driver, a rifleman in an infantry platoon and a lawyer. I submit a steadily rising learning curve applies to all, including old lawyers and riflemen who survived and General Managers of baseball teams.
  14. Kirilloff was a good selection. He will get it together soon and be a productive big league player (maybe in the Max Kepler type range).
