  1. Is Plouffe worthless or what, damn, foul tip, 2nd strike was right down the belly
  2. Decided this morning to look at some of comments on Sano's blast, holy cow, 38 pages. Has to be a record. Twins Daily staff needs to immortalize this thread.
  3. I worry that the Twins will do something stupid like trade Kepler for someone we never heard of. Outside of Buxton, Kep may end up being the best of the bunch. His swing is something to behold.
  4. Send him down here so I can watch him, then if Twins have a half of brain, they'll send Pelf to the pen
  5. Outstanding job Guys. Everyday I read the updates and reports and always impressed that they are on time, with complete analysis. Sad to see the party ending soon. Good luck to Chattanooga and Cedar Rapids in the playoffs.
  6. You are exactly right, Ryan didn't bring him up because he didn't want to take anyone off the 40 man and start the service clock
  7. Knowing Ryan, September call up when rosters expanded
  8. Ryan goes down to see Berrios, comes back, says Berrios has things he needs to work on. Today, he says Berrios is fine, had a nice season, did a great job. He's so full of BS. What is it Ryan, Berrios has things he needs to work on or is he ready. So, if they do make the wild card, wins it then starts play off baseball, he's going to war with Hughes (that is if his back is ok) Millone, Pelfrey, Gibson. That's not going to get you far. I can't see Duffey starting.
  9. He hasn't done squat in Rochester, he has to earn it, from his numbers he obviously hasn't
  10. how's this for comparison, from MLB.com on Sano being Rookie of the Month, talk about being in elite company, wow; Entering, Wednesday, the Dominican Republic native led AL rookies this year in on-base percentage (.403) and slugging percentage (.608). Among right-handed hitters in their age-22 season, only Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio (.673 in 1937) and Jimmie Foxx (.637 in '30) posted a higher slugging percentage.
  11. I voted but we have to vote 4,000 more times to beat Ray's Blake Snell
  12. No, don't trade Plouffe, trade Mauer instead. Games I saw, the infield Is so much better with Plouffe playing. Sano needs a little more consistency, then I'd put him full time at 3rd. Keep Plouffe, add Kepler, subtract Mauer. Seems he has a hard time holding that big bat, swing is late 1/2 time. He plays a easy position but when watching him, nothing stands out.
  13. Good to see Bard hitting mid 90's and not having his arm fall off. That's close to predraft, as hitting 97 at GA Tech. My guess is they're keeping him in Cedar Rapids this year to build arm strength under less stressful conditions, after coming out of last years surgery. Give him a good healthy off year and he could really shoot up the ranks.
  14. Totally agree. Defensive shifts are worthless with this guy unless you're 500 ft tall. Just about every ball I saw him hit in Tampa and Chattanooga are launched into orbit. That line drive double was absolutely smoked in Tampa and the infamous Catwalk blast was awesome. I kid you not, wish you were their, the ball hit to left center, is banging around the catwalk at top of dome roof, half the Rays team waiting for it, then ends up coming down in right center
  15. Seeing him in Tampa, he sure seemed comfortable coming in on the 8th. He had a Mano vs Mano moment with 1 of the Rays hitters, got him out on that high 96 fb. Tuesday night he walked the 1st 2 batters, then struck out the side, unreal. Great late inning mound presence. Now, after saying all that, seems a little early to give up on him as a starter. Wasn't Perk a starter for 2/3 years, then moved to pen. I'd give him 1 more chance unless he likes that late inning adrenaline rush. Got to admit, Fein, Cotts, Jepsen, May, Perk is a nice combination.
  16. Escobar showed some serious power in Tampa. Thursdays hr was to dead center, over 400ft, same spot Sano hit his. He also showed good range, made all the plays. This guy should get more respect.
  17. Great to see Meyer turning the corner, hope he gets a call up And back as a starter next year. Burdi coming in the 7th and closing it out clean is big, looks like he's figuring it out.
  18. Should of won that game last night. At game, have no idea how Milone did it, he's smoke n mirrors. FB at 88' change up 81' mixes in his curve. He was getting hit hard in the 5th, no way should he have started the 6th, Moli didn't have anyone up in BP. Twins relief corp looked good for whole series but the Rays just don't have a lot of offense. Sano's blast was incredible. My friend with me, said he's only seen it 1 other time. It landed on the catwalk in left center that surrounds the very top of the dome. Bounced around then came down in right center Had it cleared the catwalk it sould have hit the dome roof where it slopes down towards left field upper deck which would have been hr. The passed ball by Suzuki was total bs. He should have had it. Cotts the pitcher was totally surprised it got by him. We all were. Plus, base runners have a field day on him, the last one he didnt even bother throwing it to 2nd. Robinson sure is a little $heeeet, doesn't look like he belongs. Sano had a hot grounder he couldnt handle, ball goes to left field. Both my friend and I commented on how late Robinson was getting to the ball. Runners advanced, later run scored. Why is he on the roster. Goats last night; Suzuki and Moli for not pulling Milone after 5. May was a beast in all the games. I was impressed with Cotts and Jepsen and even Boyer was decent (he sure is slow in between pitches, drags game out a little). Starting rotation is a big ooof dah Only Duffey was decent. Batters teeing off on Santana and Milone getting by on smoke n mirrors. Keep Buxton in, so what if he strikes out 4 times, his D is awesome AND, the Rays did not send a runner home on a hit up the middle, they respect his cannon which he showed off a few times. Twins are winning because of Sano, Buxton, Rosario. Not even going to talk about Mauer.
  19. Well how freakin convenient. At game last night, he looked perfectly fine, fb hitting 95, was still being hit around though
  20. At game last night, kept grooving his fb 91 to 94, hitters were looking for it. Didn't use his slider enough. When he did, it was swing and miss. Me thinks now that he's off the roids, he's afraid to use that slider to much, thinking he'll blow his elbow out. Twins may have a big problem with that contract.
  21. Kepler needs to come up. He's on the 40 man, can supply needed offense, it's a no brainer.
  22. Big Pelf throwing sinker, sinker, sinker, 4 seam fb, all at 92 -95, rinse and repeat, getting by with it. Started 5th with 70 mph cb and quick out. Got Jones out all on sinkers. The Dude lives on the edge but he's getting by with it
  23. Sounds like Hughes back isn't responding well to treatment per this AMs Trib, meaning Duffey will be in the rotation little longer, giving us a better handle on future success or lack there of Looking forward to Rays series as I'll be at Tuesdays Thursday games. Hope I see him.
  24. Since 8/1, Wimmers has been in the bullpen, are they watching innings or is he out of the rotation, did I miss something
  25. What is with Arcia? Ofer 6 and last 10 games 063. Wow, did he throw in the towel. Other players (Der Kep) are passing him by.
