  4. Geez whiteys 3 rd baseman can't catch. Nails Torii in rib
  5. So far. Bux stretches single into double. Scores on a single from 2. Saves Rosario's arse by quick throw to 2nd holding runner. Throws guy out at home n it's only 4 th
  6. Millone on a putout at 2 nd. Unreal
  7. Holy Batman. Game on in the south. I'm in. Mancave getting stocked up. Big night hear. Millone will have a big night. You can take it to the bank
  8. I also remember the New York press jumping for joy when they saw the Twins would be the playoff opponent
  9. Walker actually should have a few more HR's. Playing in that stadium is not helping in that the outfield wall all the way around is so high, completely plastered with billboards. It's not Green Monster height but close. Sat. night he hit the top of the wall, would have been a homer in any other park. The ball ricochet hard back towards ss and kept him to a single. His game has really improved, he's getting there
  10. At the game last night. Niko had a big night, had 3 hits, 1 a double and ignited that big rally in the 7th getting on base, eventually driven in by Harrison where Lookouts came from behind to win. Showed much better plate discipline compared to the Wedn night game I saw.
  11. Actually I just looked up Turner's BA last 10 games, it's a buck 11, not good. It should be better. He has the ability, doesn't make sense.
  12. I'm glad you brought up Turner. He actually looks quite comfortable at the plate, has a good swing, not stiff or anything, the hits are just not falling, doesn't strike out much, worked a nice walk last night, keeps the ball in play. I don't see a lot of power. I just think he dug himself a hole at beginning of season and trying to get out. I'm too lazy to look it up but I'd be curious to see his BA & OBP since mid-May. His defense though, is 1st rate. He's definitely the field general. As to Kepler, he didn't play any games that I saw in the outfield. I did see him a bunch at Spring Training in Center and right. He's so fast, gets to all the balls and has a decent arm (not a bazooka).
  13. At game last night. I'm changing the name of Lookouts Stadium to Shish Kabob Stadium. Here's the recipe; face 3rd base, slowly rotate head to 1st base, douse head with beer, repeat. By the 5th inning, you will be grilled. Another 92 degree, full sun, packed house to see the Lookouts mash. I have no idea how left handers can see the ball in the first few innings. When their looking at home plate, the sun is right at them but it didn't slow Kepler down, another awesome game. JO is fun to watch. I love his warm up song, it's a latin rock (don't know the name). From the 1st inning on, his FB was 94 to 97. He had a beauty letter high 95 FB that the hitter couldn't catch up too. Lots of swing and misses. Early on was hitting the outside & inside corners both low and high. CB was sitting around 77. Had a few hit the inside corner with awesome break, froze the batter. Missed his spots some in the 3rd then got hit a bit in the 4th, had a decent 5th and called it a night. The knock I've been hearing on JO is that he's too short, FB will get hit around. I just didn't see that. His delivery is so easy, no effort on the FB. Really great mound presence, fully aware on what's going on (best I've seen of the pitchers so far. I hate to rank pitchers on eye test but I've moved JO to a tie with Meyers, better then him on pitchability (if that makes sense). The Lookouts is one heck of a team. Really no soft spot in the line up and Doug has them playing great defense. Turner threw out 2 or 3 base stealers last night. One of which he dropped the ball and still gunned him down. The laser he throws to 2nd is less than 3' off the ground, whereby the Jacksonville catcher couldn't get any one out at 2nd, his balls were higher and not the speed of Turners. Turner does a nice job calling games. Kudos to Harrison. Had a great running catch at the RF wall and cleared the bases on his double. Reed and Burdi started their innings last night and ended clean. Wedn night Burdi came in with runners on 1st and 2nd and couldn't get the job done. Burdi's finding out College ball is nothing compared to AA. I really like Reed, every pitch 92 -94, low and away, mixes in nice off speed. Got to see Zack Jones close it out, 1st time I've seen him since 2013 Spring Training. Back then, he had a 150 MPH wind up to fire off a 99 FB. Now, it's shortened, clean and methodical, no wasted movement, easy 93/94 FB's, mixed in with a really nice CB. Wish I could have seen JT but got to say, Zack is the best so far of the closers I've seen. I hope they push him. Again, broken record, the Kepler was on. Multi hits, coaxed walks, stole bases, fielded couple nice grounders at 1st. He's the best player on that team that's LOADED with talent. By the way, Walker; in 2013 ST, he was missing CB's by a foot. Wow, now he's making contact. Twins are doing an awesome job with him.
  14. As I said in a prior post, you need to add worthless Nolasco to the equation. When he's back from rehab, you have 2 new pitchers to deal with. I know what I'd do, dump him in a New York minute.
  15. I agree with Platoon, I think Santana's arrival will create a negative impact if Milone or Pelfrey is relegated to the bullpen. Nolasco on disabled list, then on a hopefully extended rehab assignment, keeps him out of the equation and Santana can be plugged in to his spot. Then when Nolasco comes back, they should dump him. The Twins cooked their own goose with all these contracts, full well knowing they are high risk. If there are no further injuries to the starters, I just don't see any way out of this but to trade 1 of them.
  16. That's a great article and I love his attitude, especially the raw eggs. Thanks for sharing Seth. With the contracts the MLBers are getting, you would think they would share, just a little, with the Minor Leaguers. After all, they were 1 at one time.
  17. Based on what I saw, Kepler has arrived, going from promising to productive. In his last 10 games, his BA is an obscene 529. His numbers are off the charts; compare them to Buxton and Sano Kepler, OBP 400, SLG 557, BA 341 Buxton, OBP 351, SLG 489, BA 283 Sano, OBP 349, SLG 486, BA 248 All 3 guys have dealt with injuries and yet Max is out producing them. His high average is consistent with his time in AFL. The last 2 years, the Twins have called up from AA, Vargas, Santana, Polanco, Buxton. Kepler needs to be in this discussion. In my opinion, he's surpassed Hicks and Arcia defensively and now hitting lefties. The other night, Tomshaw the lefty was spinning off speed and Kepler was nailing the pitches. He's the best player on the Lookouts, he's on the 40 man and should have a call up for outfield and 1st base, spot starting Mauer.
  18. Really the question is who's going to go out of the rotation when Santana comes back, I believe July 5 (?); Hughes Gibson Mays Pelfrey Millone Nolasco Santana Yikes, that's 7 pitchers Millone, Mays have options Nolasco still could be on DL, except when he comes back, you know the Twins, they'll seem to do anything to get their money's worth out of that contract So going forward, why not base the rotation on some of these ridiculous contracts they have doled out, unfortunately it's not the best rotation. However, keeping with the Twins way, your Contract Rotation; Hughes Santana Nolasco Pelfrey Gibson Sent back down to the farm Mays Millone Going forward Mays takes Pelfrey's spot in 2016 Millone enters the "you can never have enough pitchers" category Berrios takes Nolasco's spot in 2017 When the other contracts expire, I'll have my Grand sons ready to go As for our other young guns, ah, I don't know what to say
