  1. I agree, it's embarrassing. The outfield is a mess (Star Trib pointed that out), mediocrity at 3rd, underwhelming 1st basemen and then the pitching, I don't even want to get started on that. How can these AAA pitchers come up and stink the joint up that bad. How can Twins Management promote these guys. Can they really judge talent. Now the Astros are 2 games up on Twins.
  2. As of this morning, Astros and Cubs have better records: Astros 1 game better Cubs, 3 games better I thought I'd never see the day where the Astros pass the Twins in the rebuilding race but it has happened They got rid of the Manager, have young talent playing and don't seem to have any ridiculous contracts hanging over them, like the Nolasco fiasco. Yikes, Terry and the crew have been outdone. I've always been a fan of Terry because of his ability to build a Farm System but sometimes cringe on his MLB roster decisions I haven't totally lost faith on Terry but doubts are beginning to seep in. To add more concern, the Cubbies are now 3 games up. Results speak, step it up Twins, we need to beat them to future playoff appearances.
  3. Awesome news On the Miracles win. Shutout to boot. Anybody know why Mitch Garver is not playing for Cedar Rapids. I checked tonights box score and still not playing. Is he hurt? He's been there best hitter.
  4. I just don't see anyone in the minors, Hicks included, that can make an impact in left field, offensively and defensively. I say make a trade or sign an impact free agent (any out there next year)
  5. Great stuff. When I see your articles I jump right to them. This is what makes Twins Daily so good. Excellent insight
  6. Also add, Escobar is doing well at Short, so Twins can afford to leave Santana at Center. Heck, Santana can learn more nuances on playing center during Spring Training.
  7. Today, Santana went 4 /5, he just keeps on hitting. If playing Center was tough for him, he sure would be showing it at the plate. This kid has so much athletic ability, it's unreal. Maybe you just leave him out there until Bux is ready, which I think will be next year mid season. Being the optimist I am. I think the biggest hole will be in left. Go get a darn good hitter, decent fielder, either in trade or free agent. I just don't see any one coming down the pike that soon, Hicks included.
  8. SD. I really like your articles. Great job
  9. Saw last night he was hit again by a pitch. Get him to AA where he at least doesn't have to worry about getting hammered by High A pitchers
  10. Fuld, Correia now Willingham. Twins aren't messing around. Who's next. Best of luck to you w
  11. I agree with everybody on the infield but see the outfield changing (need a consistent offense) LF, free agent or trade CF, stop gap free agent RF, Arcia on a short lease
  12. Thanks for the Basics. A little 101 refresher is good. Its like buying something and throwing away the instructions. Like the quick nav feature
  13. Opening night jitters. Glad he got it out of the way. This is a lost season, get the kids up and see what they got.
  14. Great job Seth, you are definitely wired in and finally, we have one of our big two promoted Twins gave up assets to get these guys and it's about time we get to see Trevor. This guy is big, standing next to these guys in Spring Training, he looks like a NFL tight end, strong arm to boot. Congrats Trevor, hope you're up for a long time.
  15. Thanks Brock on your response. Thanks for the nav suggestion. Guess it's hard for an old goat like me to adapt to your changes. I'll get there sooner than later.
  16. Tobi0040, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Everybody is making good cases for bringing him up and I never thought his walk rate was out of hand. I would be thrilled if he came up but I think the Twins are paranoid about his development.
  17. Ok, I've given this new site format a few days, my conclusion is I don't like it. It misses the back and forth with us posters that always followed subject matter on front page. I don't see who posted last, I have to dig into this site to find topics, forums I missed, I mean, you have to be Sherlock Holmes to find stuff. It just misses big time the back and forth we had going on the old site. There are a bunch of posters I really enjoy reading, now I don't see it unless I open the Forum page. Before, everything was on front page and quick glance you can jump right in. Now, the content appearing appears limited, less subject matter and I noticed less posters. I should add, I'm spending less time on your site now compared to the old. I applaud you for keeping up with the latest and greatest internet tech but in so doing, it appears you took your eye off the ball (time for baseball jargon) and forgot about us in seeing at quick eye ball glances what's going on. The front page just seems limited in content. I'm not a fan of clicking into Forum and checking every one. Thanks any way guys for everything you're doing.
  18. I should have posted yesterday to Jokin's article on Meyer's performance in Louisville which I thought was excellent. Meyer's performance sounded almost like a repeat of his performance down here in Gwinnet first of June. 6 innings, 85 to 90 pitches, filthy fast ball, working on controlling his secondary stuff. There's no doubt Meyer's potential, it's Ace material. I should have added back on my posting few weeks ago, Meyer's last pitch (85th) was from a stretch, holding a man on at second, firing a chest high 98 rocket. Batter whiffed big time. I don't know of too many pitchers that can throw that hard from a stretch. That's when all of us watching were shaking our head. My 2 cents; Will he come up? 1st, I think Meyer is on a pitch limit, not a innings limit. That is a big difference. If Meyer can throw 90 pitches and make into the 7th or later (which is pretty d hard to do) then I think Twins brass will let him do it. 2nd) He's never completed a full season of a 5 day pitching routine to my knowledge. 3rd) He's still healthy. We're into August and no shoulder problems. That's a big deal. As long as he's healthy, he should continue to pitch to the end of season, rack up as many innings as he can, within his pitch count. 4th) He has 3 good pitches to work with All this is positive news for Meyer and his development. So will he come up, in my opinion, no. I'm probably wrong, Twins Brass could surprise us but I think he will come out of Spring Training, taking Correia's spot in rotation. The Twins no they have a winner, I don't see a need for Fall audition.
  19. Did the site come down with bilateral leg weakness?
  20. I saw Duffy in Spring Training working a lot with pitching instructor. I've been intrigued by him as a prospect to watch. His ball moves a lot. I believe he was selected after JT Chargois. Both came from same school. Duffy was the late inning reliever then Chargois closed. It's interesting he gets noticed. On side note, I still have hope for Luke Bard. Remember him? I saw him pitch year before last in Spring Training and came away impressed. He has a smooth delivery. This guy needs to get healthy. My guess is he's in ext. but who knows
  21. Awesome/ and copying the Hicks walks program
  22. I saw Polanco at Spring Training. Coaches were batting balls at him deep in the hole during drills. He was looking great. Good arm, athletic, quick release. Meintkiewicz shouting out good work. I agree with Doc Bauer, they should play him. He's not going to embarrass anyone. I don't get the Florimon play. You could stick a mannequin in at home plate and get the same results.
  23. I saw Meyer pitch 1st part of June and he looked really good. I agree with Seth's statement that he has the stuff. But, I believe he was shut down last year early part of June and missed over 2 months, so this is the latest he's pitched. My guess on why the 75 to 85 pitch count per game is to get Meyer thru an entire season, pitching every 5 days Get used to the daily regiment that pitchers do, build arm strength. I just think he needs more stamina.
  24. I agree, I'm just saying, after he builds up his stamina and gets his innings in at Rochester, say 160 to 180, he could be a late season call up and in short relief. And, if Twins are still in contention, they could use his arsenal in key moments. It's win win, gets his feet wet and ready for 2015 rotation. Or, Twins may surprise me and bring him up this summer which would be awesome.
